I'm a longtime fan of this show and was very saddened to hear of Mary's death--what a funny, lovely woman. I would say rest in peace, but she's probably kicking up her heels and making them laugh up there.:)

Oh what a lovely woman and such a beautiful melody that accompany's the video. The music and the woman go together.
Mary Millar was such a caring human being who lived her life to the fullest. She will always be remembered as Rose.
In the last few months leading up to her passing she wasn't scared of dying as she believed she would meet her maker and saviour Jesus Christ at the end of the rainbow. I hope she found what she was looking for. RIP Dear lady.

She died of ovarian cancer on the 10th of November 1998. Apparently she was touring with the london cast production of Beauty And The Beast in 1996/1997 when she started becoming ill, and in early 1997 she pushed on and recorded the song ''Beauty And The Beast'' for the soundtrack of the play when she knew she was dying of cancer and didn't have long to live.
That just goes to show her loving spirit for acting and singing.
So sorry to hear she passed. She was excellent on the show (by the way a lot of Americans know this show from PBS).

Patricia Routledge still looks pretty at 80 so imagine how youthful Mary would look if she was still alive as she's alot prettier then Patricia.
