I kindly thanked her and told her to TELL CHRISTINE I'd probably be ready for another beer when she got the chance...

The modern customer is very stupid, sad to say. They expect a business to give them free stuff all the time because of their overinflated egoes and sense of entitlement. You can explain something in very simple terms and still get asked what it means. They ask if 'out of order' signs really mean the machine its on doesnt work. If you tell them that what they want is not available they ask 'what do you mean'. Over the last few years the public has gotten very stupid indeed.
I'll never forget the time I was in a Chinese take-out joint that had a few tables; these two young guys kept going up to the counter for things one at a time! I started to laugh; I could just imagine them in a restaurant with waiter service.
