    MR ANDERSON!!!!

  • 8:08

    these LED's are pretty bright

    I guess

    THat

    Safety is first

    YEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • 8:21 looks like Agent Smith from the Matrix :P

  • @cocacolafan98 I was thinking the same thing :P. Smith:"Mr Anderson, I see your still alive and well."

  • @Steithon hehe lol

  • ...or you can follow the instructables from this video: /watch?v=2o6w0ryH2dw&feature=related

  • I think red should be bass.. yellow should be mid and green should be high

  • Huh, I now have the urgent need to make this for my room.

  • 35 people are merely shit eaters

  • 8:16 - Agent Smith: Never send a human to do a machine's job...

Google "Agent Smith" if you have no idea what I just said!

  • Woah, they look like a police car's lights. Imagine listening to rap with this...

  • I ordered the kit from Jameco, but there are no parts like the red parts. Why did I not get the same parts as you?

And why don't you make a video actually showing us how to do this. This video seems like it's intended to teach, but then again, we can't really learn anything because you always focus on only one piece at a time, never showing the full setup or explaining your steps in a way that people can follow.

  • sweet! been looking for one of these, this one is a lot simpler and more effective!!!

although i am gonna replace the 12v transformer for a couple of 9v batteries :P

and gonna put the circuit on my toolbox along with a portable speaker :P

haha, this is perfect! thank you! gonna get one kit

  • after this 38 vids i fell like an engineer

  • So basically what this does is separate different frequencies from the input sound so that different lights beat to different parts of the music?

  • man, you sell this product?

  • Kudos. I have been looking for many years, to find a way to make a color organ like I had in my car back in the 60's. Yea I know I am dating myself, but I refuse to grow up. It,s just Bitchen. Thanks.

    Catology

  • I had one of these back in the day, when working with the mains wasn't a big deal. Why is it so many seem to be afraid of mains, when all that's required to be be cautious& respectful of it.

  • This guy is the Alton Brown of electronics.

  • this is too cool

  • At first he looked kind of like Rainne Wilson from the office. When he put on the glasses he looked like Agent Smith from the Matrix trilogy

  • Simple and effective ideas: 4:07 paint markers to draw lines on the perfboard; 4:20 printing IC labels; 5:15 using a backlight.

So simple! Why I didn't think about them before?

  • its so hard i dont know ho i build this

  • would you be able to implement this for live situations?

  • Does anyone know if this 'kit' could be re-purposed to power "el wire" instead of leds?

  • @Krellian99 depends on the voltage and current needs of El Wire.

If it is small enough, then remove the LED's and put in place el wire.

if it is larger, then a simple relay circuit would be necessary.

  • heck, it could even be used to make a laser show, complete with rotating mirrors and lenses

  • ever think to hook up a LED Matrix cube?

  • I have no idea what hes talking about but i like watching his videos!

  • is there a aurdino kit thing or video on how to make a simple fast on off led thing

im wanting to make one of those police flashlights that stun people

  • what is the name of the song in the beginning

  • is there any website where i can print this diagram

  • it may work on speakers insted of LEDs

  • @irockyuorule if it does speakers won't be fun because all you listen to is music no light show

  • hmmmm... he is stupid... i prefer watch kipkay vodeos than his videos.. its insane

  • he looks like terminator at 8:17

  • Great Project !! What is the voltage of the power supply?

  • I love it when pieces fit in so uniformly, like at 4:53 :)

  • Gross

  • @Thor1292 Just because your not as cool as him or Alex, doesnt mean you can say stuff like that you jerk!

  • I can't find IC2, IC1D, IC1C, IC1BM IC1A, pls help

  • Do not watch 7:36 - 8:53 if you suffer from epilepsy

  • i have seen the circuit.. and got a question wath is the value of C18? please help

  • LSD Trip Organ

  • I've always found it a bit comical that so many people look up these videos because they need to do a project like this to graduate. Yet at top engineering schools, like MIT, this is something a freshman does for fun on a weekend...

  • What does he use for ground?

  • @xean1000

Did you understand the Virtual Ground?! Looking at the schematic this show a weird V+ on Virtual ground

    I Don't know what is is V+

    Do you know?

  • @Niccolatorres The schematic does NOT show +12V on the virtual ground. The line going to pin 7 IC is not connected to the line connecting pin 2& 6 of that IC. A solid dot when lines intersect denote a connect & that isn't there. That' the only way I can see U got the idea V+ is on the V-GRND. There is a Wikipedia & other article on the web about virtual grounds. Basically a virtual ground is a voltage potential reference point that's not connected to the Earth or the power supply ground.

  • this is soooo freakin' nerdy.. I LOVE IT!!

  • What would happen if you replace the LED's by some speakers?

  • @masterelyt do you know any of the spec changes i would need? (like resistors and all that jazz?)

  • Could it work with more LED lights then just 4 per level?

  • What do you power it with, ´cause I couldn´t see anything that would power it at Jameco?

  • @vutsag1 If you look at the schematic it says +12 volts.

  • @kooleo1212 But I meant that he putted a connector to thatThing opposite the audio jack and I wondered what that was.

  • @ 8:14 total badass!

  • I knew he was secretly Phil Collin's Son!!!

  • SEIZURE! XD

  • funky music

  • Could you replace the led's and the transistor's with vu meters and have a 3-channel audio spectrum analyzer?

  • What if I wanted to just show volume levels?

  • @Craydon

look up something called a vumeter, there's some pretty decent tutorials out there.

  • @23skidoonk THANK YOU! That's just what I wanted but couldn't think of the name. I'm going o do a little dance now.

  • rustinhieber. com

  • Damn yo looks like Smith in Da Matrix !!!

  • this guy is awesome!!!

  • A Pedofile he got them all XD

  • damn thats complicated 6:58

  • holy shit that's awesome! and nice video editing. I love watching your videos.

  • most kits if found are 120v ac ... how can i convert them to a DC power supply instead like the 12v + from my car

  • I am going to have to build one of these and hook it up to a PWM/TTL Amp to run some RGB Flex Strip to see how it looks:-)

  • What are the black boxes with the yellow center called?

  • @xean1000 Potentiometers most likely

  • put the orange light in the middle, put it on top of your car, make a police car siren noise, and go after someone on the highway or something haha jk, its illegal :P

  • I wish I could meet that guy.

  • how many holes were in the perfboard you soldered your components to? and does the kit come with the board already?

  • dude you should publish your music on itunes or something

  • 8:17 Mr. Anderson!

  • Rly cool project. Made this as a project in school starting from the schematic in the vid. Though we used a 9V battery supply and a microphone to collect sounds. Now what's missing is to implement it into some piece of clothing and go to the nightclubs and light up the dancefloor =)

  • that guy is the best electronics douche on the net!

  • I just made this! It works great! Dimsanda, pin 3 is not technically a power input. It's "virtually grounded". The 12 volts should be the only supply voltage.

  • Little Blinky LOL

  • colling OWNS kipkay

  • woooW

Can any normal smart Student do it ? xD

am thinkn to get it done ! not just one ALot ! omg factory xD

  • @See5E i am planning to do it as a science project

  • Hi , I'm going to try this one.but I have a question,

    1.In the virtual ground circuit,there are 2 power inputs(pin 7,pin3)

In the pin 3 power input ,it is grounded on the other side o.O through two

resistors. Will the circuit short out????

    Anyone please answer me.

    thank you.

  • @MultiJohn12321 no that's to change the volume right? i mean like it can let you see how loud it is, like an equalizer =D

  • can you make one with a volume "thing" in it=D

  • @SillieWous i think you mean a Potentiometer

  • Nice.

How do you make a circuit board react to sound in the same fashion only just from music being played in the room, not plugged into the device?

  • @qstendious You can put an electret microphone at the signal input pins or you can add a preamp w/ a microphone, if you want a wireless color organ

  • @Oricevreitu Thanks, I was having trouble finding that answer!

  • you can use LM324 instead of MC33204. The pinout is the same, and i would use a LM386 IC instead of TS921, but the pinout is'nt the same. IC with the same pinout is the LM741(a.k.a. UA741,ßA 741). Note that there is no datasheet for TS921.

Please rate this comment, because i will post the parts list too.

  • @Oricevreitu

no idea what you said here.

  • @Oricevreitu

    dont be a geek

  • @msimec I think your in the wrong place if your not a geek.

  • @pietzeekoe

    I know =)

but I have to make something like this to graduate

    soo... yeah

  • Does somebody has this building plan in german??

  • Oh man.. I wanna do this. Does the kit come with instructions for newbies?

  • This looks like Dwight Shrute..

  • nicely done

  • im making this but modding it for an ipod with a solar panel and speakers

  • yo u wanna make a deal make me one of these and i will give you $65.00

  • Where can I buy your music? It's awesome!

  • Will I ever be able to come up with projects like these? I hope so :P

  • Great Video Collin, Have you ever thought of doing a video/project with Kipkay? Both of you guys together could really pull off something great!! =)

  • The kit is 40 bucks? For few dollars more you can get a 5 channel kit at Xkitz.com, and its a full kit with PCBs.

  • please tell me what song is at the end when you use it

    i really want it

  • could u please send me the scematic

  • Comment removed

  • does the kit come with instructions?

  • what beat are you using

  • @ gooboyproductions good idea

Btw could anyone make on for me I am horrible with this stuff!

  • Love the "to the beat" component placement.

  • thats pimping

  • you are my new super hero!

  • lol mod the power to a solar panel for portability!

  • Where i can get that schematic?

  • safety second!

  • @P00Pification haha now this post has a higher rating than your first one lol.

  • I want to make a circuit that will turn on a siren with a button, but people will be unable to turn it off. Ideas!

  • this guy reminds me of the evil guy from the matrix...i kinda forgot his name xD

  • @SLICKmanSINGH Agent smith?

  • @mainmenu484 yeeah him, thanks xD

  • hey can any one please list down the parts used...plz...

  • could you use the output that gos to the LEDs to drive a relay - ( I want to be able to control 120v Lights....)

  • Thats so cool!

  • This guy looks like Frohike.

  • the video said to get it fron Jameco electronics

  • Mr. Anderson! Mr. Anderson! Mr. Anderson! Mr. Anderson!

Arggghh Mr. Anderson! Mr. Anderson! Mr. Anderson! xD

    Safety First Mr. Anderson!

  • Is There Any Place Where I Can Buy This?

  • /watch?v=l0vXxZCbtrY

  • What's to teach on reading schematics? You have different symbols and lines connecting them. That's the whole tutorial.

  • 8:15 ARNOLD SHWALTZENEGER #FTW

  • 8:12 You know what they say, *puts on sunglasses* safety first. YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

  • what kind of graph is that? like the circuts.

  • Hello: It is the kit the same Led Color Organ than it is in the video?

  • Can you tell all us please whats the songs name that you use in videos???

  • HAHAHAHAHA that was epic!!!

  • please do a video on how to read schematics, i know, everyones asking, but you know your stuff, its allways better to learn from someone who knows their stuff. also, your circuitry looks so neat, precise lengths of cable, nice neat soldier, every time i try, it just looks ugly.

  • that is pretty awesome

  • Very fun. Thanks!!

  • whats the name of that song? it's so badass

  • FUNKY MUSIC YEAH

who say science cant be cool

  • @luckviewer777 not me! science is awesome!

  • @luckviewer777 I say that.

  • @atypicalmystery when??

  • Comment removed

  • too much work for such a simple thing...

  • name was not clear

  • what is name of 4-pin ic?

  • schematics are easy, but i need subscribers and help with some electronic projects. I 've made a line follower that almost works, but not enough. I need subscribers. :)

  • can i ask if this comes with everything, the power supply, the audio jacks etc

  • Awesome video and circuit! Please keep these great and instructional videos coming! :D

  • saftey first... *sunglasses on*

  • Respond to this video... 1 typo can cause a stir.

  • @cedartowndawg oh sorry it was a typo because i was on ipod. meant to say i

  • it would be über awesome if you could theach us how to build a envelope for amplifiers or filters. I think i would crap my pants with something like that.

  • Collin is awesome!

  • LOL - 8:08

you know what they say...safety first. *puts on sunglasses*

    YYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

  • opps caps lol

  • "you know what they say. . . .safety first *changes glasses*" EPIC

  • GOTTA MAKE ONE OF THESE FOR MY FLAT

  • FOR GODS SAKE PUT THE NAME OF THE SONG IN THE DESCRIPTION!

  • SIR! I WILL GIVE YOU 1 MILLION...YES, I SAID 1 MILLION PRETZELS FOR THIS DEVICE!

  • @P00Pification ROFL

  • @P00Pification LOL hahaha
