  • Marvellous Indian music !

  • Enjoy this beauty of view and music and STFU ... SHHHH SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • d. now the other angle to it

pakistan has been dominated by musicians from punjab area . like true punjabi style they have huge amount of power and throw in their music and songs

and to add to it their roots in traditional, and folk song prowress they are grounded in indian classical music traditions of gharanas

so ultimately what we get is damn good music and songs from them but the sad part is pakistan is not doing well

after all it was land of my forefathers

  • c. now the third angle to it

    pakistan is a battered nation

there are no openings nor money for its singers f

or them to make a mark they have to really come up with good music and songs

they have to really work hard as it is not a land of oppurtunity --- contd

  • and

    b. all bollywood music is following the illustrious generations of mostly marathi singers and bengali singers. iin my opinion these guys lack the rustic vigour and also to some extent the sadhna/riyaaz part

ex. sonu nigam [ dont mind if i call him an arse hole ] comes to the studio and records a song in 30 min, makes a cool rs.3.0 lacs and pushes off to the next recording studio -- contd

  • hi ! all guys whether from india or pakistan

    glad to join this discussion

which side of the LOC has better music [ indian or pakistani ?

well i have my own opinion based on my observation

to tell u the truth even though i am an indian pakistani singers are better

and better still is there musical experimentations !

    now look at the reasons

    a. indian music somehow has been highjacked by bollywood music - contd

  • soulful music, chalte chalte, love it always

  • Very good song!!!

  • there's something about this song which makes u travel to a different world

  • nice song

  • school time 1990

  • wow

  • classic...

  • What did this actress - Is Meena Kumai a Muslim name? - die from? She's SO pretty!

  • @786swe its not muslim name,it was trend at that time to adopt a hindu name to get moe acceptable to majority of indian audience.

  • @somiisb a matter of fact iam a muslim but have no muslim name because iam a convert

  • @786swe ...she had heart problems

  • @786swe she was a muslim, her real name was Mahjabeen Bano and she dies from Liver cirrhosis. She became an alcoholic.

  • @N0Jok3 Thanks for the info. How did agirl form a Muslim family became alcoholic? She was probably coping with stress or pain with alcohol.

  • @786swe yeah I think so too. I read about her on wikipedia...it has her whole life story on there if your interested. And i'm not sure myself what the song is about actually..lol..i can speak and talk urdu but i'm not good with translations and this poetry. sorry.

  • @N0Jok3 What's the song about? I do not know any Hindi or Urdu. Wonder what she's singing about.

  • is this song in Urdu? I do know that the composer was a Muslim.

  • @786swe it is very much Urdu. for your info, bollywood movies are called hindi movies but in actual they are 90% Urdu.

  • Nice music! i like it , regards from Afghanistan

  • if this song would have been sung by a muslim all the muslims here would be saying what a singer what a singer, what a voice blah blah blah. Like they do on any good song of Muhammad Rafi. But look here any of those muslims are not saying what a voice lata ji.......what a voice............bastards muslims.

  • @mauryavikram Wow..just WOW.

  • @mauryavikram Frankly, her voice is too sharp but because the lyrics sounds sweet that I could tolerate, same as in "Kabhi Kabhi". I do not like Lata's other songs. I have heard a few growing up Someone bought the tape.

  • @786swe If you do not like lata's song then you are moron and you have no business being here get lost.

  • @mauryavikram you should not swear at any community. lata no doubt is best playback singer india ever had.

  • @machokhan1 I don't, I only reserve that salutation for muslims and nobody else.

  • @mauryavikram for you info, i am Muslim and PROUD to be

  • @machokhan1 ........hmmmm..........let's see check the vedio "message from a gangster" on my profile and let me know do you still feel the same way?

  • @mauryavikram please do not ask me to watch a video here and a video there. say it here whatever you wanna say. one more thing. whether i watch your video or someone else or not i will always till i breath my last would say i am PROUD to be a muslim.

  • nice music video :)

  • @shikaari321 i agree with you on the Urdu statement, it is indeed an Indian language - but your comment about indian music being better than pakistani is an entirely subjective one based on your own opinion, i don't generalize music based on countries, there's good and bad everywhere, some pakistani songs are fantastic, and some are not, same applies to indian and music of other countries for that matter

  • @sheru7mera7naam007 no doubt urdu came from india, but urdu is national language of Pakistan, and hindi which is quite different from urdu is national language of india. Also, Urdu was/is spoken in muslim culture of india, which is more oriented towards persian, and impact of persian can be clearly seen in URDU. Ghazal, nanzam, qawwali, all are written in urdu by muslim poets like mirza ghalib and many more, all in urdu.

  • @yasirutube ur right, in ethnic / geographic terms Urdu it isn't a part of Pakistan but because it is used as a national language it has formed a very integral part of our culture now.

  • @yasirutube Get your facts straight, you idiot. Hindi is NOT the national language of India. It's the official language of India, as is English.

Chapar chapar hi karte raho bas..

  • @Desi4evah you have many official languages other than hindi and english, you indians don;t even know how t talk in a decent manner,

  • @yasirutube Yep. Look who's talking about decency. Sab ki naak mein dam karke rakha hua hai, tabhi khuda ki taraf se aaye din ki phitkaarein baras rahi hain.

  • @Desi4evah You have showed that how rude and indecent you are. Whatever u say but it is a fact that Pakistani Singers are far better than Indian Singers

  • @NoumanRockstar Then get the fuck out of here. Yeah, Paki singers are better than ANYONE IN THE WORLD.. isliye berozgaar hokar chade tatol rahe hain duniya bhar.. Hadd hoti hai khud pasandi ki. Beghairat qaum. Ab zara si ghiarat baqi hai na, to fuck off

Go bark on your Paki videos..

  • @Desi4evah haan, apne singers rozzgaar kalia ro rhe hen or hmare singers ko rozgaar denge? bharway, saalo aata kya he tum gandu qaum ko?maa chudwana bes, wo bhe Pakitanio se, saal men 2,4 baar maa chudwa lete hen, last time mumbai men chudwai the, salay bhosdi k nang, compete krenge Pakustani music ko,randi ki olad pehle urdu bolna seekho, phir music seekho, nahi aati to apni behn Pakistan bhej, URDU bhe sikha denge, gaana bhe, or mujra bhe, bacha bhe urdu men janay g haram ki olad

  • @NoumanRockstar - Only in your dreams lol.

  • @Desi4evah haan bhe, tum logon per to rehmat baras rhi he,har 2month baad delhi mumbai men rehmat ki barash hti he.subhaAllah

  • @yasirutube bak diya bhosdeeke, ab zara si sharam hogi to yahan se niklega tu.. Aur itna hia dam hai tujh mein to jakar un phateecharon ko rozgaar dila.. anhin to apni maa chuda, jaise hamesha se chuda raha hai..

    chal ab rasta naap!

  • @Desi4evah wo tere ghar men ghus unhi choden ge, or tum indians jaltay raho, salay stinky bastard, beta gand men bamboo denge to nikle ga nnahi, raand ki olad, you morons dont have any culturre any language, go and fuck yoursself, Gay HIND!!!

  • @yasirutube Yeh Gay Hind hi hai jo tumhare phateecharon ko naukri pe rahke hue hai.. Warna tum log to apni hi phitkaar mein dab chuke ho.. No movie industry, no music industry, entertainment industry hai jo tumhare alwa kaun nahin poochhta.. Tsk tsk!!

Bechare paki.. san 1947 se ab tak doosron ki rehmat pe zinda.. kabhi zameen, to kabhi zubaan.. ab woh bhi khahish poori na ho saki to, india mein aa gaye phir apni marwane aur beizzat hone.. hahaha!

  • @Desi4evah humare singers ko rozgar tum nahi dia. tumhari majboori hai ke tumhein apne songs ko hit banane ke lie un ki zarurat hai

  • @NoumanRockstar To kisne diya? Tere baap ne? Arey yeh to phir bhi stars hain, kuchh reputation hai, teri khud ki koi auqaat hogi na to gali ke baabe ko rozgaar pe rakh ke dikha.. agar aisa kiya na to main bhi manoon tum log mard ke bachche ho..

Ehsaan faramoshi aur nashukri tumhare khoon mein hai. Agar Khuda Rabbul alameen bhi upar se naazil ho jayein tumhare liye, to unehin bhi bech baach ke kha jao tum log. Nauzubillah!

Yeh farq hai tum mein aur mujh mein..

Aur bhai mere kehne na kehne se kya hota hai.. Ja zarahho baqi duniya tmhare aur tumhari qom ke baare mein kya kehti hai. Sharm baqi rahi, to akar mujhse kehna!

  • Comment removed

  • @NoumanRockstar Remove kyun kiya? Phat gayi isliye?

"aaj bhi india main indian singers se ziada pak singers hit hain"

Isi ghalat fehmi, ya yun kaho, khush fehmi ki wajeh se itne saal guzarne ke bawajood tumhara mulk kaheen nahin hai.. Singers paida kar diye to koi teer maar liya bhai?!

  • @Desi4evah Agr pak singers se itna problem hai tou un ke paun kiun chatta ho???hum ne tou phir singing ko Rahat jaise singers die hain tum ne tou singing ko sirf himesh jaise ghatia singers die hain

  • @NoumanRockstar Haan woh hit hain India mein, lekin yeh kisne kaha Indian singers ke banizbat hit hain? Yeh statistics tumhari amma ne di tumhein? Ya abba shareef aaye the India apni utha kar.. Oh jaa bhei.. Kaam kar apna.. Munh na lag mere.. Bohot dekhi hian tere jaisi khud pasandi ki najayaz auladein!

  • @Desi4evah tumhari language tumhara dar dikha rahi hai

  • @NoumanRockstar Aur tumhari harkatein tumhara.. Ohhhhh, snap!

  • @NoumanRockstar Noor Jehan yaad hai na? Kaun phata hua dhol hai woh to pata chal hi jaata hai.. Mehnaaz pata hai na? Bechari ka career uski umr se pehle hi khatm ho gaya... Bade aaye entertainment industry ke muhafiz. Na shakl na aql.

  • @yasirutube Urdu is nothing but speeking hindi and keep shitting some persian words here and there.

  • @mauryavikram hindi in itself is not a language. let me tell you one thing. Urdu is not speaking hindi. its a totally different language altogether. Urdu is a mixture of Arabic, Persian, Turkish and Sanskrit.

get your facts right before commenting on anything.

  • @machokhan1 the grammatical base of hindi and urdu are the same, you can't claim urdu to be a different language .... but you are totally correct to say that the *vocabulary* and technical terminilogy used in Urdu is different from Hindi and this is what clearly distinguishes it from Hindi....

  • old is gold

  • osmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • wonderful lines

  • I love this song

  • Booh why can't everyone just speak english?

  • Classic movie!! Bollywood is to westernized if i want to see a western style movie i have Hollywood for that ....... New movies can be modern but original.

  • who r the 63 dislikes?? they dont meet anyone chalte chalte

  • @italiaveg90 Exactly.

  • best movie, idk why but i really like old movies, my age people are crazy about new movies but i cant even stand it, lol

  • @Afghanistang :) old is gold

  • so nice film until my father bought vcr for this film

  • the two Kathak dancers are great too...who are they

  • Nice video

  • One of the best songs ever composed, choreographed and rendered .... simply amazing! Love the way the two dancers move with the beat of the song! And that was the era when they did not have professional Choreographers ! Simply mind boggling!!!

  • @zyconn1 They didnt have professional choreographers then? This era is after the era of Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje, Mughal E Azam and thousands other movies that had professional dancers and choreographers on hand. Pandit Lachhu Maharaj, Pt. Birju Maharaj, Gopi Krishnaji, Hiralalji, Sohanlalji (both of them gurus to Saroj Khan) and Hiralal is the father of Vaibhavi Merchant. My dad makes the same incorrect assumption about choreographers at that time.

  • Forty years old classical which took over fourteen years to be made................great songs.

  • beautiful lyrics n choreography..

  • Thumbs up if you r watching this in 2013 !!

  • beautifulllllllll

  • Mama mia! Wonderful music!

  • Wow, this is beautiful and I don't even understand the language, I'm Mexican.

  • @VibinSoul Don't know who u are.. but I saw that you are just 22 years. And you appreciated this song... Well it is thrilling that a guy from Mexico fell in love with this song.. while many Indians feel it is boring and don't even care about classical art and music which is richly and abundantly existing in INDIA. You tube is truly adorable.

  • @VibinSoul it is the music which binds and captures the soul wish that u could understand the words they are gr8

  • @VibinSoul music has no language barrier..

  • @VibinSoul and if you understood the lyrics you will reach a different plane altogether

  • @TheMaskwa Please translate for us:)

  • bollywood has lost its golden era to the likes of trashy songs like sheila ki jawani and munni badnaam hui.... ugh, no wonder i've stopped following new trends, this is classic

  • This is my all time favorite song. Although I grew up in the west & I am used to listening to rock music, I just love this song as it is so simple & sweetly sang. As the song talks of the struggle to find true love & happiness. And Lata sings this song so beautifully.Long live the URDU language. As Urdu is the world's most spoken language. And simply put it is a very lovely & beautiful language to speak & listen to. Thank you.

  • Who is the actress?? Sh's real pretty

  • She's Meena Kumari.the tragedy queeen of Bollywood. She died almost imediately after this film was released. It took almost 12 years to complete this movie due 2 her disastrous personal life. drifted wedlock, over drinking etc etc. The movie was almost shelved when veteran bollywood actors Sunil Dutt and Nargis. parents of Bollywood star Sunjay Dutt intervened and completed the movie. t'was only after her death that the movie became a super blockbuster. She is a true actor with awesome beauty.

  • @raziagarikipati 12 years. That's mad crazy! Why... ?

  • The super hit Bollywood movie ,Pakeezah has got documented the masterpiece acting of Meena Kumari...and the idea conceived by Director Kamal Amrohi.Only very few directors were competent enough to get the best art out of Meena's high calibre! Of course the beautiful composition by Ghulam Muhammad will be remembered.

  • I don't think it would be wrong to say this song was more popular than others from the film

  • Just as Jesus created wine from water, we humans are capable on transmuting emotion into music luv my dad cause he luvs dis song

annn thumbs up if u wer giving beat or singing along wid...

  • Absolute master piece work of art.

  • i love this song... very cute.. voice ..

  • India vs. Pakistan---please STOP this nonsense...enjoy the life and enjoy the music---grow up, grow up you F***ing idiots...

  • all the songs are great in this film, pity they dont make films like this anymore

  • Love this beautiful Lucknowi culture, such a shame is dying out in India :-(

  • Its not Hindi its URDU! duh!

  • THUMBS UP IF U ARE WATCHING THIS SONG IN 2011..

  • @nobinist1 This song reminds many things in life But live has to have a End Amen

  • @farsara yea you are right,,

  • @nobinist1 watching in 2012 also :-)

  • @nobinist1 Oh no I am watching this in 2012

  • @nobinist1 how about still going in 2012

  • @kobela333 keep watching dear..

  • esta actriz Meena kumari es BELLA.

  • The acting is wonderful.....the song is beautifully written and Lata has given her best to the singing of this immortal song. I feel it will be heard by generations to come. And I feel that it should be as such for we bound to forget the past as the current wave of rubbish hounds us every second of our lives...

  • Sab intejar akhir kabhi, hogi waqt sar bhi

  • @santoshcreative Shab-e-Intezar Aakhir, Kabhi Hou Gee MuKHTASIR bhi.. :)

  • @salmanbadnaam1

    Thanks for correction

  • @santoshcreative Shab-e-Intezaar Aakhir, Kabhi Hogi Mukhtasar Bhi. Meaning: This night of anticipation might yet diminish.

  • @immu1981 thanks

  • What a song depicting a powerful era of the Indianculture.Simply wonderful and medicine for romantic minds. This song will never grow old and Meena Kumari will live forever.

  • i love this soft song.... specially when i m alone....

  • bakwas song

  • I love... love... love!!!

  • isse behtareen gana aur koi nahi ho sakta

  • subhaan allah kitni bhi tareef karo kam hain

  • excellent song

  • vaaaaah vaaaah!

  • After release, this film was grand hit but unfortunatly the music director Gulam Muhammad had passed away, he did not test the success of evergreen music

  • SUBHANALLAH!

  • I listened this songs 100s times and keep doing it and still could not able to find reason to dislike what those 53 people found before. I can bet even deaf people would still like this. beauty to hear and beauty to watch. I mean, you need to be retarded or blind-deaf to not like this song.

Also, I wonder why whenever I open youtube.com I search this song rather than typing Munni, Sheela or chamak challo, no offense to their fans but this is song is gem even UFO play this on their radios.....

  • @waleedbutt - those 53 people really love this song - they have a love/hate relationship otherwise they wouldn't have listened to this fantastic song in the first place.

  • Mera Husn o talab mere kaam to aaya,

Khaali hi sahi meri taraf jaam to aaya!

  • this song.........makes me feel like going back in that time and never coming back. I WILL LOVE THIS SONG TILL I DIE AND HOPEFULLY EVEN AFTER

  • love this song...meena was such a beautifull woman.

  • pple who dislike this song can KISS MY ASS......fucken retards!!

  • @Zalim0099 I think , ethey are watching Sheila ki javaani

  • @tamurthDZ Exactly , You know i'm not Indian , i barely understand what's the meaning of all the words in this song , but i think that we don't have to understand the lyrics to love it, the sweet and powerful voice of Lata is quiet enough to make me fall in love with the movie, look at the graceful woman Meena Kumari, look at the slow choreography , even if she played a prostitute , she's in a decent sari... This is Indian cinema that we miss nowadays, i feel sorry for the industry

  • @tamurthDZ Despite your limited knowledge of this song and it's literary merit you do seem to have refined taste! That's awesome. Yes, Lata was a powerful and intense singer and she had strong mentors to get the best out of her too. Meena Kumari isn't wearing a sari in this song. She is wearing an Angrakha (limb keeper) on a flowing kameez (the tunic) with Churidaar pajama (long fitted trousers that bunch up to given impression of cloth bangles) and a dupatta (the shawl like garment).

  • @immu1981 i used to see "kathak" dancers wearing the same costume, it's so pretty and so decent

Thanks for this precious information, i'm still learning a lot of incredible secrets about this great civilisation, You sould be very proud of it

    Regards
