considering patina has been doing this show since 2009, more or less day in, day out is extraordinary. imagine, singing the same songs, reciting the same script, every single day. so she has a reason to be tired and slightly off. i saw patina back in london and she was absolutely amazing, and this performance wasnt even that bad, it was very good. so before hating on patina just take into account the amount of work she has done.
Patina is FABULOUS. She could have had an off day....tired, we forget they have personal lives as well as doing this grueling broadway stuff everyday. never know what's going on in their personal lives. But the show must go on and she is still fabulous!!!! 10/31/2011
First time ever hearing her and the performance wasn't the best. You want me to lie. Like I said before maybe it was one bad night didn't say she was a horrible singer.
Weak performance from Patina in my opinion. She was so much better than this when I saw her in London. Maybe her voice needs a rest after playing the role for such a long time. That last note in particular was a bit pathetic. Hope I don't sound too harsh, I think both Patina and the show are amazing, but this isn't her at her best.
@AllAmericanProphet you forget how hard that last note is. Its a really hard note to get as a belt yes, she may be having an off day, bless her, but she still sustains it, and kills the note...not many singers can do that!
@dch4mpi0n But she does look really tired and actually alot older than in London (2009). Yes, that was 3 years ago but she shouldn't look this much older. Also in London it was obvious that she couldn't sustain. The nights I saw it, on all but one she was cutting notes very short left, right and centre & cracked in a few places. I love her but she needs to take a long rest. However the UK Tour Deloris is also outstanding (much prefer her vocals) but I'm waiting to see if she can handle it. :)
