thought I had the flatfoootin thing sorted out but only watched slower dancers. Now I've seen you dancing so fast I'm confused again. Can you flatfoot slow or fast and are the steps traditional? I'm from Wales in case you wonder why I'm a bit vague about your dance traditions

@watugot1 flatfoot becomes freestyle man. its made for reels and such but american flatfoot has more influences than say celtic flatfoot /reel dancing. so yes fast or slow or whatever works as long as it is in time. thats what i believe. jtraske

jtraske is right. Appalachian dancing or just American old-time dancing in general gets called a lot of things..some would call this clogging, some flat footing, and some may even call it buckdancing. They all kinda blur together so it's all an individual style to each dancer.
