Looks nice, but when you go deeper, the drop-down menues are still from WinMo and are very small.. considering the fact that there is no stylus (phones with styluses are just gay) - i think it's a bit hard to use.

windows mobile 6.1 was a needy platform. it needed the really high end phone hardware. the tg01 provides this hardware. with the snapdragon processer, the full ability of windows is released.
plus windows mobile 6.5 is less needy, making future phones like the tg01, the omnia ii, and the htc TD2 far superior.

Very true. In retrospect, I was just dazzled to see a WinMo device that wasn't crawling. I owned the Touch Pro as well as the 6700, 6800, and currently use an iPhone 3G along with the Pre. WinMo needs a complete rewrite, no doubt. I do believe, however, that much of Windows Mobile's flack is received for the awful performance experienced by under-performing hardware. Sadly, I haven't seen/heard of any Android builds for these devices to test your theory. I agree that WinMo isn't optimized.
I own a Touch Pro and an iPod Touch 2g, and develop for both. I use Windows Mobile 6.5 on the Touch Pro. The CPU speed difference is negligible, especially compared to the original iPhone or iPhone 3g instead of the slightly-faster Touch 2g.
In terms of the GPU, however, all versions of the iPhone/iPod Touch completely outclass the Touch Pro family. MBX Lite vs. MSM7200 onboard is no contest. However, both would be more than good enough for hardware-accelerated UI, if WinMo weren't such a dog.

They had the virus pre installed on the SD cards. The virus was a PC virus (so it wouldnt infect a smartphone). So once it was hooked up to a computer it would transfer the virus. Toshiba claims it's an acident. They also claim that the virus is out and deleted.

HTC should copy this and put touch flo on it and call it HTC Touch HD 2. I like how slim it is.

Ok a little newsflash for the intersted : O2 is in Duitsland gestopt met de verkoop van de Windows Mobile-smartphone TG01 van Toshiba. Per ongeluk leverde Toshiba de telefoon met een voorgeïnstalleerd virus. Volgens O2 betreft het ongemak in elk geval niet alle toestellen.
that's dutch. In english : They just say that the toshiba dvices had a PRE-installed virus. So Germany stopt selling them. Just wanted to let you guys know.

They had the virus pre installed on the SD cards. The virus was a PC virus (so it wouldnt infect a smartphone). So once it was hooked up to a computer it would transfer the virus. Toshiba claims it's an acident. They also claim that the virus is out and deleted.

Sony Ericson Rachael anyone? I can't wait! There's gonna be a new phone supposedly coming out that runs Android, has a 4" touch screen, 8 megapixel camera, and a Snapdragon 1 GHZ processor. It's just like the TG01 but better! Spec wise anyway.

Mobile 6.5 Build 23002 is out there. Bad this phone can't make it in the new world :( , I believe Microsoft strategy on Phone and Zune is to fit exactly the model iPhone/iPod.
