Just wanted to add, Canon XLH1A has much better stabilizer than the HF S100, try whatching the test done with it. Even with the stabilizer is set to off, it looks to me that it still has some effect,
Whoever criticise the test method for the image stabilizer of camcorderinfo, just try whatching the same test done with the Sony HDR-XR520V and the Panasonic HDC-TM300, I'm sure you'll see the difference between the OIS performance of each camcorder and realize how effeciant these tests are.
What kind of shitty test is this... under normal conditions on would not be shaking a camera like that... This give no insight to the camera... Complete SHIT!
@mike20021969 well, if u do care about the stabilizers, check out the image stabilizers in sony camcorders, and im not commercing for sony, i just have an experience with sony, i have the hdr xr500 and the stabilizer is truly amazing
the stabilization on this camera DOES NOT WORK!

I'm confused as to what this is suppose to demonstrate.. What zoom level are you using. Both images are unusable, in my opinion.

Does anyone know, what this camera's battery life is? Is it really only 60 minutes?
elkenwelt 2 years ago
it kinda looks like the footage with the
stabilization off is looks a bit less shaky

ok, this test seems really unappropriated. It should simulate an actual use, not an earthquake. We can't notice any difference no matter what camera.

They're missing the fact that these tests are for COMPARISON.

the video is correct.
The s100's ois doesn't work very well
camcorderinfo does this test on all their new camcorders to compare ois.

This is the worst stablization test I have ever seen. How is that a real world handheld test? Who shakes that much?
