@Lambda25 Ah and thats the point you hit it without noticing; We each draw our own lines in life. If it isn't your thing so be it, but it's not your place to judge just as it isn't mine to judge anything you do that might be strange to me. Like say for instance searching things that don't interest you on youtube just to talk shit lol.
@Dreamydre15 I can only speak from experience here but as far as that goes; because it's both physically and mentally challenging, it's fun, when the endorphins kick in it's like sitting in the palm of gods hand, and because I can.
At the height he was at; he should have had a safety harness and I'm sure any similar suspension will have harnesses or a net as a result of this horrifying experience.
And FYI no one feels worse about this than the suspension community.
@darkmaster01 not sure if you meant that in a positive or negative way; but anyway I'll say that I have met a lot of genuinely good people via suspension events etc. and the community and suspension itself lay close to my heart.
@darkmaster01 suspension rituals have been practiced for thousands of years among various cultures; some of the more noteworthy being the Mandan and the Oh-kee-pah ritual, also to be noted would be the Sundance ritual. As far as modern suspension goes the two of the greatest pioneers were Fakir Musafar and Stelarc; plenty can be found on all of the fore-mentioned should you choose to research them a bit.
i've suspended for years and this was foolish. that piercer is finished. when what we use the weight is a factor it'll determine the gauge of hook, rig design, and weight tested everything. he probably did that but when using a bungee you have to count him as double his weight for saftey
Just because he can handle being that high up and u can't doesn't mean he's stupid besides he's a great guy who is alot of fun (something that your not)and love's his thrills. Yeah Go JIMMI!
I could see the tensile strength of something such as this failing when you have a 300lb person bouncing up and down on it. A rubberband will strech, but I wouldn't use it as a bungee cord if you know what I mean. Everything has it's limits.
these guys dont know shit and im trying to find the video of where they try and say they are equal to the x games, for one you need a team of professionals before you can even come close to saying you are even near the caliber of x games and there performers, you suck and so do those morons you have hanging with you, disgrace is right.
the suspension community is trying to figure out what caused the quiklink failure, it would be a great help if you have any video or pictures of this suspension. please send me a message here on you tube
ive met these fools and science is key to these kinds of experiments ,its called weights and measures bobo, use it cuz gravity takes on all comers, hahahaha
Joe Amato says, "We all do the same thing, on different levels, but all suspend". from what I can see on the video you were performing WAY above your suspension "level" Joe!
as the saying goes... your only as strong as your weakest link.. glad he didnt get injured much more and will be ok. man this thing got alot of publicity
your right, these things arent supposed to happen and im 100% positive that everyone involved took all the proper percautions. its was just equipment failur. shame it happened
