@PQ5 Eh, they didn't, the reason of the necromorphs being on the Sprawl is explained in the iPhone version of Dead Space, the church made a person with the codename Vandal destroy some security boxes and that let them in into the Sprawl, however Vandal turned against the church after that and helped against the necromorphs but didn't fully destroy them before she died cuz of injuries and thats where Isaac comes in.
