  • Bought exact HM 20 years ago for $450 with hard case.

Swapped out DiMarzio's for Seymour Duncans.

She's more of a Rose color now, but still plays great. My go to guitar.

  • Mine is a hot pink w/black hardware - I think just like yours but mine has a rosewood fingerboard.

I bought it from a kid that was going into the service about 10 years ago - got it for $150.00.

I get to the kid's house & his Mom sez "I don't think he'll let me sell it for any less!!!" Whoa!! I couldn't whip out my just cashed paycheck soon enough!!! I was grinning all the way home...

  • hm strat

    ftw

  • Cool ))) YeeeeaaaHh!

  • Greg Howe?

  • Great stuff!

  • That sounded great! Nice playing, my friend.

The HM Strats came with a DiMarzio Super 3 bridge pickup - like a Super Distortion, but with boosted mids and chopped highs. If I'm not mistaken, it was designed for this guitar and appeared as far back as 1988 or before. DiMarzio apparently started selling it individually to the public in 1994.

  • heem6 you got it right, the Super3 was designed for the Hm Strat, which was endorsed by Greg Howe in the late 80`s. A few years later DiMarzio named the pup "Super3" and started selling it. If you look at the back of the original pickup it has no code, only a "Made in USA". The neck and middle pups are quite different, they are stock fender single coils, but they sound great.

  • the stock neck pickup sux...nice guitar though..the bridge is a super distortion as mentioned
