What will the Venerable Enterprise-D look like in the Altered Timeline ? It just needs longer Warp Engines that are Higher up on the Struts. I'm sorry to say but no amount of time will make Enterprise E as special as D. It is an inferior ship both artistically and structurally. The separation sequence alone beats the entire coolness factor of E.
I grew up watching The Original Series movies, so I had no idea that this was a series. I loved the Constitution refit Enterprise. But when I started watching this, I switched favorites. Galaxy Rocks!
When it comes down to it there is only one starship class that would thrash any other class hands down, That is the Akira class, It is a pure combat vessel armed with 15 torpedo tubes and 6 phaser banks. As for your comments on the Galaxy class well apart from the rare occasion when it carried out an alpha strike we dont see what its max combat abilites are. As for my opinion on the Soverign i think it a very capable combat/ explorer ship, However the aft torpedo launcher is in an awkward place.
Im guessing you are talking about point defence. Which try hard as i might i cant think of any examples in star trek when that is carried out, The only time i have seen it is ST Armada as a special weapon on the Nebula class, Even if starfleet vessels can do point defence, Phasering over 15 torpedos flying towards you would be practially impossible.
Actually in that TNG episode where everyone on the ship starts to de-evolve while Data and the Captain chase after a stray torpedo, the suggestion of firing the torpedo with phasers is mentioned before the torpedo ended up getting out and the phaser systems were not working.
Phasing 50 torpedoes can be done as shown in Nemesis, if you refer to the speed of those phasers when the Scimitar goes to cloak. And if those torps were too close, they'd be gone.
The TNG episode you mention is not point defence that is a stray torpedo that is not heading towards you thus making it easier to shoot down, Not to mention it is only one. I dont recall 50 torpedos being phaserd in Nemesis, Also those phasers are not locking onto 15+ torpedos moving towards you at high speed. Not fast you are joking arent you the ENT-D can launch several torpedos from one launcher so fast it is almost at the same time. And presumably a Torpedo crusier could do it even faster.
The diffrence is massive, The diffrences i have already mentioned in my last post. The Akira class has 5 launchers forward, 4 Aft, 3 port and 3 starboard. Yes there is the possibility of destroying one or two but that would still not be enough to stop a full alpha atrike by an Akira class, And to help prevent other torps being destroyed by one going off, Well that is why you would use a broard spread pattern. Remember the Akira class is a torpedo crusier with all of this taken into account.
@Roper34 actually the Galaxy class couldnt fire 7 torpedos one right after another in rapid sucession there was a 7 second delay between fireing tho the torpedoes could be programed to split into a max of 4 warheads the sove class could fire a max of 9 or 10 with a 3 second delay between fireing
@smitto21 I dident say that it could fire 7 right after one another, I just said "ENT-D can launch several torpedos from one launcher so fast it is almost at the same time" It is very cool though.
In what way? The galaxy class has three times the volume, and is designed to be upgraded for 100 years with the latest technology (the technology the sovereign class is currently fitted with), but with more of it than the sovereign. Also, it looks better.
That's your opinion. I think the Enterprise E looks better, personally. The Enterprise E is Sovereign class, built specifically for fighting the Borg. If you think from a literal perspective, if the Galaxy was better than the Sovereign, why would they change the class? Why wouldn't they just improve the Galaxy?
The Enterprise E, at any rate, is more advanced than any starship currently(?) used by the fleet. (ST:FC) It has a faster computer, better offensive and defensive abilities...
The only thing that's my opinion is my comment on looks, everything else is fact. You want to know why they got rid of the Enterprise D? Because the writers of Generations are freaking morons who made the worst excuse for a Star Trek movie in existence. What makes you think, using any logic, that the Galaxy class can't 1. Have a new computer put in, 2. Have better weapons put in, 3. Have better shield generators put in. Look at the tech manual. The Sovereign is generic and ugly at most angles.
It was impressive in terms of the landing, yes. But I definitely didn't enjoy it for what it symbolised, that is the triumph of morons writing a script.
The galaxy class is to date the most complex and advanced starship desing, it is a multi puspose vessel, the sovereing class is primarly desing with the borg in mind. The warp core took damage in generations beacuse of a few lucky hits.
Yes, but if a Galaxy class was outfitted for combat (like all were in the dominion war), it'd thrash a Sovereign class. Even with the older technology, the Galaxy class still produces 50% more power. Imagine it retrofitted with the latest technology (like it is designed to be, according to Gene Roddenberry and the Enterprise D tech manual). It would have more powerful shields, a larger complement of torpedoes (can launch ten from one tube at once) and no phaser blind spots (mounted on nacelles).
@Blondets1 They just ended up not being cost effective, which is why they discontinued production of them in favor of the akira, intrepid, defiant, and finally sovereign
The saucer section is within the warp field of the stardrive section, but I remember reading in a couple of old technical manuals that the Galaxy-class has minimal warp capability also, so it could also explain the warp field.
Like i stated a while back in the comments "Allow me to answer that. Once seperated the saucer section is still in the warp field of the Star drive section hence why it is still in warp. Then the driver coil segments of the impulse engines take on the decaying warp field of the saucer section and allow the saucer to remain at warp for about 2 minutes". If it were simply a case of inerta it would drop out of warp within seconds.
The saucer section generates its own warp field, otherwise the saucer section would be torn apart when it leaves the stardrives field and the stardrives warp field would collapse. Separation at warp is very risky, however they seem to do it 'just fine' as traditional with star trek situation impossible.
The saucer section does not generate its own warp feild at all, to do that it would need a warp core, warp nacelles, warp coils e.t.c. Clearly it has none of those. i am correct in what i say.
I dont log in as much as i used to, At some point i will do another vid But in the meantime thankyou all for your comments (The positive ones at least) I knew the music would be hit and miss, mostly a hit i would say, Anyway cheers.
well... as you said... it's an up-beat version of the theme tune.. ;), whatever, that's just my opinion, you may like it, but I find it.. well.. annoying..
Someone once told me that time was a predator that stalked us all our lives, and I rather believe that time is a companion who goes with us on the journey and reminds us to cherish every moment because they'll never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we lived.

Then the driver coil segments of the impulse engines take on the decaying warp field of the saucer section and allow the saucer to remain at warp for about 2 minutes.
Lol, this is my 4th comment but one super last thing.....I never knew the ship had so many weapons, I mean I thought all those things were other engines or something..
actually the Enterprise has several Phaser Banks and about 4 photon banks 2 forward and two Rear, according to the star trek games and the show, But the other weapons shown are merely the genius Ideas for certain episode in which the enterprise was modified to fit the episode. the deflector and bussard collectors are shown in this video.
oh, and one more thing... Could it be possible that all the UFO sightings we see out there actually be from like Starfleet people or other species in the future timetraveling and looking at us and studying us?
Picard separated the ship in many episodes, "Encounter at Farpoint" and "The Best of Both Worlds" are two where he uses them to tactical advantage, (but picard wasnt in command in " Best of Both Worlds". The only time the enterpruise is separated for danamge as far as i can remember is in "Generations"
A-mazing. I'm seeing things about the Enterprise I haven't seen yet. I'll see it in the series episodes tho. I think you did a good job. Good music mixing, clips, and a good ending.
Someone once told me that time is a predator that stalked us all our lives. And I rather believe that time is a companion that goes with us on the journey that reminds us to cherish/treasure every good moment and good and true friend that we come into contact with/come into our lives because once they are gone they will never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we live.

Point defence, stray torpedo, what's the difference - the phasers weren't working properly either.
I can imagine a torpedo crusier could launch several from one point, but you you can hit one, you'll be able to cause the explosion to get the others.
You can also have a look at 2:12 in the video above.

@Blondets1 They just ended up not being cost effective, which is why they discontinued production of them in favor of the akira, intrepid, defiant, and finally sovereign

does the soucer section has the warp drive?
Gaavcio 2 years ago
no it doesn't
Darkness208 2 years ago
It'd really be something if it did..... ;-)
rkmugen 2 years ago
they pulled all the important components as early as they could so there is nothing of value left behind in the saucer section. sweet vid.
Wayne77177 2 years ago
wonder what they did with the saucer section. they cant just leave it there to be ransacked by the rommies or anyone else
brooklyn560 2 years ago
They took absolutely everything of value...and the Captain's fish, then BLEW IT UP!
CGren123 2 years ago
how does the saucer section stay in warp without a warp field
brooklyn560 3 years ago
The saucer section is within the warp field of the stardrive section, but I remember reading in a couple of old technical manuals that the Galaxy-class has minimal warp capability also, so it could also explain the warp field.
NCC1701J 3 years ago
inerta
Delta297 2 years ago
Like i stated a while back in the comments "Allow me to answer that. Once seperated the saucer section is still in the warp field of the Star drive section hence why it is still in warp. Then the driver coil segments of the impulse engines take on the decaying warp field of the saucer section and allow the saucer to remain at warp for about 2 minutes". If it were simply a case of inerta it would drop out of warp within seconds.
Roper34 2 years ago
The saucer section generates its own warp field, otherwise the saucer section would be torn apart when it leaves the stardrives field and the stardrives warp field would collapse. Separation at warp is very risky, however they seem to do it 'just fine' as traditional with star trek situation impossible.
plypencil 2 years ago
The saucer section does not generate its own warp feild at all, to do that it would need a warp core, warp nacelles, warp coils e.t.c. Clearly it has none of those. i am correct in what i say.

I agree Roper this was good witht he music on occasion. I did enjoy it greatly. Memories are abundant on this one.

I dont log in as much as i used to, At some point i will do another vid But in the meantime thankyou all for your comments (The positive ones at least) I knew the music would be hit and miss, mostly a hit i would say, Anyway cheers.

It's a shame that the Enterprise-D only separated a few times in the entire series.

Is it an up-beat version of the theme tune... Why do you think it is crappy???!!!
NCC1701J 3 years ago
well... as you said... it's an up-beat version of the theme tune.. ;), whatever, that's just my opinion, you may like it, but I find it.. well.. annoying..

What episodes are the clips between 2:33 and 3:10 from?
bmused55 3 years ago
2:33 is from Booby Trap, 3:10 I can't remember the name but I think it's the one where Lwaxana Troi almost get's married to that wairdo.

I Agree. The largest and best Enterprise. Like any older model she just needs a refit is all.

Beautiful Starship the Enterprise-D!!. Certainly worthy of the name "Enterprise". What a shame she was destroyed on Veridian III.

If the saucer section doesn't have it's own warp core, how does it maintain warp speed once it seperarates from the stardrive section?
slickrick297 3 years ago
Allow me to answer that. Once seperated the saucer section is still in the warp field of the Star drive section hence why it is still in warp. Then the driver coil segments of the impulse engines take on the decaying warp field of the saucer section and allow the saucer to remain at warp for about 2 minutes.

At 2:40. Evidence that the enterprise D has firepower of at least in the gigaton, if not teraton, range.

I think they ignited the atmosphere in that episode or something.

A superb compilation of clips. This was really well put together... thanks for uploading.
wjfox2006 4 years ago 2
Lol, this is my 4th comment but one super last thing.....I never knew the ship had so many weapons, I mean I thought all those things were other engines or something..
Sulyaman 4 years ago
actually the Enterprise has several Phaser Banks and about 4 photon banks 2 forward and two Rear, according to the star trek games and the show, But the other weapons shown are merely the genius Ideas for certain episode in which the enterprise was modified to fit the episode. the deflector and bussard collectors are shown in this video.
blsims 4 years ago
I really like this music, Where is it available from?
Sulyaman 4 years ago
oh, and one more thing... Could it be possible that all the UFO sightings we see out there actually be from like Starfleet people or other species in the future timetraveling and looking at us and studying us?
Sulyaman 4 years ago
I think the music is a nice beat, however, does Picard only seperate the ship if one part is damaged or for what reasons?
Sulyaman 4 years ago
Picard separated the ship in many episodes, "Encounter at Farpoint" and "The Best of Both Worlds" are two where he uses them to tactical advantage, (but picard wasnt in command in " Best of Both Worlds". The only time the enterpruise is separated for danamge as far as i can remember is in "Generations"
summer247 4 years ago
Then Enterprise-D only serparated in
"Encounter at Farpoint" (TNG Seassion 1)
"The Arsenal of Freedom" (TNG Seassion 1)
"Best of both worlds, part 2" (TNG seassion 4)
and Star Trek: Generations (the 7th movie)

Just like to thank everyone for their comments about my vid so far, Thanks. At some point i will make another. Glad most of you have enjoyed the vid.
Roper34 4 years ago
This was always "Star Trek Light." The Picard school of defense was always, "Wait, let's talk about it."
The useless Counselor sat there while the ship was under attack muttering, "Captain, I sense they're pissed at us."
And most annoying, just too feminine.
gillgrissomcsi 4 years ago
in which episode was the ending?
bigpizza112 4 years ago
....It was the crappy movie Generations.
billyboyjennings 4 years ago
A-mazing. I'm seeing things about the Enterprise I haven't seen yet. I'll see it in the series episodes tho. I think you did a good job. Good music mixing, clips, and a good ending.
