Would love to get together with some folks to head out to Lands End to look for this light. I saw it once manyh years ago with 3 others and it really scared the hell out of us. This light crossed the road really fast from lane to lane right in front of our car while our bright head lights were on!!!! I have not seen it since.
Ive seen it!! I was born in Beaufort and I lived in Beaufort up till Aug of 2010 . My mother has seen this light and I know a lot of people that have seen this light. Its not fake. My mother even did a project about it when she was in school. This is not fake people if you don't believe it get down there a few times till you get to see it your self. I did not get to see it on my first time so it may take a few times trying at different times at night.
I've done this before... that night I was with about 12 friends watching it. it was more active, rising into the tree tops, then going down into the ground. I was recording it like this guy, but then it got close and everyone panicked. I froze to the spot as it came up; don't remember much else except everything stretching out like a weird camera lens effect, but I lost my camera that night.
I am planning on trying to see the light but live (way) out of state so I'll only have a 3-4 hour window. Any suggestions on what time would be best to see the light? Time of year, time of night (before or after midnight, predawn hours etc) Any input in appreciated.
First, Hooked on Phonics works wonders, give it try.... Secondly, it's real and I've seen it, as my video shows. I don't know why you "didt" see it. Maybe next time you can come with me, see it together, and I can show you how to use Spell Check. But seriously, bring something to my post or don't bother posting. Back to your Grandma's basement. I think your pizza rolls are done. I only wish you could hear how sarcasticly I've narrated this in my head.... It's WAY past my bedtime.....

My friend and I saw it in 1980. It actually went around the car. We got scared and drove off. As we drove off, it stayed in front of the car and then vanished. I am a Beaufort native and know a lot of people who have witnessed it many times.

I have seen this light before also...this brings back eerie memories. Lands End Light and the Chapel of Ease are 2 of the scariest places in SC.

Really? I've been there twice and seen it both times. A friend of mine lives in Greenwood and has went back dozens of times and never missed it.
