  • Most people are looking at the spy satellites that are all over the internet. You can see them with the naked eye. One of them looks like a diamond.

  • can't find mars at all, only jupiter and i see jupiter as a white dot with small white dots (moons) around it :P

  • the best time to spot mars this month nov 2011 is in the east around 2:00am its very close to regulus right now so should be no problem to spot..

  • I CAN'T FIND IT where is it lol

  • @TheAirsoftmadman i use a program where i can find the place of all planets and stars and constellations, you can set your time and place and than look where the planets are, it's called: stellarium

  • That is SO AWESOME!

  • Good job =)

  • In October2005 Mars was much closer than it is now - that is why now you see only a small dot. In a few months it will be closer, but not as close as in Oct. 2005.

  • i dont understand how you can see it like this, i have an Celestron Nexstar 8se with Barlow x 2 , But STILL it is just a small dot in the telescope, just like as watching an star :(

  • am buying one that has 575x lol

  • I remember once when Mars was like REALLY close to Earth(2008 or 2007) I saw it with naked eye

  • STOP SPYING THROUGH MY WINDOW :L

  • Looks like the planet is in the sand storm season.

  • @Danielkain

When you are looking through a telescope, you are looking at a piece of sky about the size of a grain of sand. Even though there are lots of stars, the chances of you seeing one in that tiny specific piece of sky is small. Sometimes planets pass very close to a star (Called "conjunction, I think). In that case, if the planet is within a half-degree or so of the planet, it MAY share the eyepiece view with the planet.

  • It's gonna look awesome if u stack some pics and edit it with Registax!

  • 9 people are martians that don't like people spying on them.

  • @laserfloyd you mean 11

  • I would spend hours just staring at that.

  • @Kchandler1012 lol yeah I could too :D

  • Lucky man! I wanna see a Black hOle!

  • @superangelofilms Haha, black holes are invisible and can only be seend via instruments that detect the massive gravitational forces surrounding a black hole. I LOVE PHYSICS :D

  • Mars is also called the " red planet" i think ! =))

  • i have a celestron powerseeker 27mm 1000mm..i cant see planets like yours does..when I look at mars its just a red dot.. any idea for a good telescope that can see rings of saturn and ice on mars?

  • Beautiful.

  • I have a telescope and I want to see if I can see mars with it. I can get clear views of the moon. It is not a bad telescope but I plan to upgrade soon.

  • There are now stars because of the exposure setting used to capture the image

  • there is no star wtf?

  • beautiful!

Can I see Mars with normal binoculars?

  • It looks more like venus

  • I heard that it will come as close at it ever will ever come to earth in 30 december.

  • Ive got a celestron powerseeker 50AZ is it good enough to see saturn. Im asking this because im crap at using telescopes.

  • @punchonman mzybe you found the answer maybe not

you will see saturn with it, but don't expect to see much detail. You will be able to determine that ithas rings, but yo won't see divisions in them, they won't be well defined either, but all this depends on optics/seeing conditions/light polution.

Doon't go for high magniffications, you'l just get a bigger blur, but, you should watch and you will tell the differrence yourself

    Clear Skies !!!

  • how to u find the right star

  • was-dat-a-60mm-refractor????

  • Amazing piece of kit and very good observation. I plan to buy one of the ETX models soon. Thanks for posting.

  • is that a 60mm telescope?

  • nice

  • ive got the celestial 50AZ telescope and ive seen the red spot on Jupiter, its more powerful than i thought

  • have you ever watched the Moon through this instrument?

  • @GLBRETTBRICK idk why you think that would make me happy, I am still indifferent with respect to your set up, I never asked about it anyway

  • Amazing I am so buying a telescope

  • @GLBRETTBRICK there is no way you have a 10 mm lens lmao

  • can anyone help me out by deciding if i should get the Nexstar SLT 130 ? does it have high quality and resolution , also what should i buy along with it?

  • @Beezy2hot i bought the nexstar 130 SLT but then i returned it, i dont think it was worth the money, im just gonna be looking on craigslist until i find a good deal.

i didnt know about focal ratios before i bought it and the focal ratio is only 5, compared to most at about 8 or 9

anyways i think there is better dcopes, i realize your post is a month old so you might have already bought it

  • @oneadamtwelve86 Thx for your Reply , but yeah I did already order it , it should be here this or next week. So your saying it wasn't worth the Money? damn , this will be my first telescope.

  • @Beezy2hot it was my first too. ive been checking out this Orion SkyQuest XT8. its 203mm aperture compared to 130. and its only $329 but manually controlled.

but 8" of aperture compared to 5" is a big difference. the focal ratio is still only 5.9

im not completely sold on it yet, but it might be a good one

  • Is that through the 8, 10 or 12?

  • Hey guys just thought I'd help out and say that there's a good app that helps to find the locations of the planets on the iPod.. I use star walk I look to where the moon is then where it is in the night sky and move along till I can see other planets

  • i have to wait till realy early in the morning so i can see through the atmosphere i havent spotted mars but i have seen venus, moon, saturn

  • @GLBRETTBRICK hmm 10cm that is smaller then my finder i think you mean inches

  • @jexus23 you have a 100 mm finder? That seems odd, 100 mm for a scope is not uncommon

  • @jexus23 he put 10mm not cm and anyway a 10cm finder! The apeture of my telescope is only 13cm.

  • I have a venture 900mm x 114mm 675X Max power...4'' Telescope..is that good or no?

  • @Nyxzimus 675 max power? if it says something like that it is probably poop because good scopes usually have a max of around 300 (useful) and there is no use to 675x magnification

  • were can you find mars?

  • I think there are Humans or Aliens out there, but who invented the fact that they wanted to kill us.I think they are nice people.

  • @kimberlilymagda i believe they are just like us,probably they even didn't know that we are exist....it must be great to live for another thousand years, maybe on that time we have the ability to travel between galaxies...:)

  • @hafieq : lol rly

  • @kimberlilymagda : really

  • @sonichedgie Really.

  • Best :29 seconds of my fucking LIFE!

  • how much was was the magnification and how big was it in oculal?

  • @PatCruiser : No eyepiece/oculal. I used a camera in place of an eyepiece. It's called the PlanetCam, and with my focal length, it came out to ABOUT 200x

  • @Astrovideo so you didnt look through an eyepiece after or before?

    i want to buy an lx90 8" too :)

  • @PatCruiser : I use an eyepiece to find and line things up, but then I remove the eyepiece, and insert the camera.

  • @Astrovideo how is the seeing at nebulars and galaxies?

do you have the advanced coma free version or the other one?

  • @PatCruiser : Nebula and galaxies are great. It depends more on the darkness of the viewing site more than anything. Additionally the larger the aperature of the scope, the more light-gathering capabilities. I have the regular old LX-90 that I purchased about 6 years ago.

  • @Astrovideo sounds good. the telescope i have so far is a meade too but only 5.1" an very cheap workmanship (DS- series). so i simply cant see any galaxies or

nebula ;) and planets are not so sharp and detailed because its hard collimate because of the bad materials etc

  • @PatCruiser wait a seck mine is the meade DS-2080 model would that work the focal length is about 800 without any eyepiece and i have 5 eyepeices 25mm,20mm,17mm,12mm, and 6mm

could i see nebula or galaxies??

  • @chickenpoper i dont think so 3" is way too small... maybe clusters.

but feel free to try it ;)

i cant see nebulars oder galaxies with my 5,1". that why i want to buy a bigger one.

galaxies and nebulars are interesting at 8" or bigger. so i think about buying a dobson with 12"

  • @PatCruiser :( can i atleast see stars? or mars or other planets?

  • @chickenpoper yeah of course stars ;)

mars is a very small orange point .. you can recognize saturns rings and the moons of jupiter.. maybe some details on jupiters surface

  • um it might be a DS-2090 model with a probably 4 inch tube

  • the diameter of the tube is probably 4 inches

  • @Astrovideo dude why dont you just get a diagonal flip mirror so you just just flip between the eyepiece and camera while its all hooked up?

  • @Astrovideo I've never seen mars : (

  • @chetabumposess09 LETS GO THERE

  • expensive telescope?

  • what kind of tripod are you using, im jealous of its sturdyness. also what eyepieces and ccd did you use. 4mm via 3x barlow?

  • thats the moon

  • Mars is too small and has small and irregular windows for best observations. Next ones will be 06-2016 and late 2018. Till then, it will appear close to a orange bright dot for most of the time....

  • Very very true. Mars is one of the worst planetary destinations to view - it's very disappointing. This video (this is actually an LX90?) is very good. Thru the lens?

  • The fact is that Mars is way small... and unlike the other big planet, it doesn´t get bigger with the regularity of the other planets. The window for best observing are short and sparce. Next good time will be in 06-2016 and late 2018, till then, mars will be fairly close to a bright dot.

  • Nice. I was just out for an hour in the cold looking at mars 228X and 300X with a 4.5" and this is about what it looked like. It was high in the sky and atmosphere was stable so it looked pretty good.

  • i have an 6'' inc celestron telescope an i have the next problem...when i see mars..i look at him as if i look an ordinary star..:S::S

  • @astronomyb0y,

I have 4.5" reflector, and I can advise you to use higher magnification eyepieces and focus better (don't think I have to teach you on that second one). Oh, and make sure you have your telescope collimated properly. That is all. Best of luck!

  • Hello there Martians!! Have you looked back at us yet??? :-D

  • Your making them angry!!! lol :0

  • @dmana3172 lmao

  • if you count 41 stars and sleep youll see the love of your life in your dream

  • dont look at saturn through a telescope its bad luck

  • where did you hear that from?

  • some chinese feng shui shit i guess

  • where did YOU hear that :) why is it bad luck , ill telll you what, did you know for every star you count means 1 year less of human life for you?

  • i seen mars for the 1st time the other day. its pretty close to earth right?

  • @mixindave1 it's very close to earth, at least when compared to the size of our galaxy and such. but from a human perspective, it's kinda far.

if the earth is 1 A.U. from the sun, Mars is 1.6 A.U.

  • @Obama4Prezz yea i know that lol. i seen it by naked eye the other day and i could never see it before. was quite bright

  • yeah i see a constat orange light brown star. is that what you meant?

i think Mars is at the closest alignment with earth orbit around march 2010? i dont know for sure.

  • @ArticMuse yea man its kind on the left of some constelation cancer or something.... well from where i am it is.

  • cool..from the equator where i am, its directly above me at night.

  • Hey i got the same results with my celestron astromaster 130eq and mars looks the same only that i took pics not a video, but wow this shot is nice just like mine

  • excellent video, nice detail on the planets surface, great job.

  • thats not the moon its mars look at the brown canyone barley see it but its there, this clearly is not the moon, this guy has a strong telescope and yah sure the moon will look this samll ,yah i dont think so.

  • haha you make yourself look like the retard by saying such an ignorant thing. Also, your spelling doesn't help.

  • @msflyaway21 i cant belive you can be that dumb and think that is the moon !!!!!!

  • @msflyaway21 - you twat!

  • @msflyaway21 the moon isn't that small through a telescope, you dumbass.

  • @msflyaway21 ummm, what were u thinking?

  • Just found Stellarium on the net. Its a free download and its brilliant...Shows exactly what is in the sky from your location...All you have to do is make a note off Google Earth of your Longitude and latitude and input the coordinates into Stellarium and "Bingo!"

  • or you could just pick your city from the list of cities. There is bound to be one on the list that is close to you.

  • Yes, Stellarium is superb software.

  • sweet, but my meade telescope can see up so close that you cant even see the whole planet just the side of mars. but you see a big ugly shaped moon, lol 5 stars

  • i got a md ds-2080 at-tc refrating telescope.could a see mars.

  • Mars is visible to the naked eye, so yes you can see it. Make sure you keep an eye out for it on January 29. On this date Mars will be at opposition giving us the brightest view of Mars for a while. However, Mars will be far from Earth on this date and wont be as large in the sky as it was in 2005 when this video was taken.

  • Cosmored u said every mission was fake on every solar system video ........ I saw ur comment on a mars probe 1 too

  • and it could but the atmosphere and seeing was probably bag etc. fog and wind...

  • cunt

  • @darvlol

    wtf faggot?

  • zajebiście, widać nawet ciemne pasmo

  • i got a 10' and and ur 8' is also great......good job

  • Im thinking about getting a celestron 130mm eq md telescope. Can you tell me if its a good move

  • looks so close, yet it's so far away.

  • When I recorded Mars it looked exactly the same.

  • what telescope size is this?

  • It's an 8"

  • Good job, tracking worked well. Almost got an LX-90 but an N8i came up. Wonderful scopes. Use a camcorder? Set it on outdoor white balance, reduce exposure. Mars doesn't need a filter for color video, but you can record it in b&w with red, green and blue filters then add them for a nice color image in Registax.

  • I think I used a red filter, but I can't remember. It's been a long time.

  • Did you use any filter?

  • good job man. :)

  • good stuff.

  • This video's shows how difficult it planetary observing can be .

All planets are smal and bright in a telescope and surfacedetails are subtle .

The condition in which this video was captured are way better then from my own location .

  • I never saw Mars through my telescope but i saw Venus XD

  • I believe its about like from earth ill say 30 million miles or so around there

  • what was the distance to mars?

  • Couple million miles, maybe couple hundred million, I don't remember

  • Damn! i asked a simple question and i got bad points for it... What's wrong? :/

  • Why is mars not as red as on nasas pictures?

  • get a rack of filters to show out the diffrent colours on mars

  • because NASA stands for Never A Straight Answer!!

  • I wonder how much detail I will see of Mars through a 10" Dob... any ideas anyone??

  • You should have seen it clearer than that

with an 8" telescope. You could clearly see a white polar cap in my old high quality 8" Newtonian.

  • do u think i could see the polar cap with a meade 6 inch with uhtc coatings?

  • Probably its like that because of the atmosphere and the place he's in might be slightly light polluted.

  • Thanks... good point... But i think that for capturing these pictures he needs to go where town's lights are not poluting the sky thus away from smog. Also there are less ionospherique effects in the night. Indeed from 3 layers there's only one left... The quality of the signal should be even better if it was taken in a cold night ;) Ok i got few knowledges in telecommunications but since both are electromagnetic waves :) That's why i was wondering ;)

  • Yeah I really need to move somewhere else because here in california it is very light polluted and very annoying when I'm trying to look at Andromeda but its too light polluted to see it. And by the way Mar's isn't very red at all. Lol and also sometimes when I'm looking through my telescope at night a racoon comes up the steps! Like yesterday.

  • I think your lying, arent you?

  • Not even the hubble is capable of doing that.

  • it looks round like a planet .. o.O

  • that might be because it is LOL

  • xD ... it should be one

  • um, it IS a planet. its MARS

YOU KNOW....MAAAAAARS! the other planet after EARTH?

have you taken 3rd grade science?

  • i only know twix , and milky way ...

  • haha xD lol

  • you should have put a green filter on to look at mars it looks alot better.

  • How do u know its Mars? How do u know its planet? How? Hmmmmmmmmmmm????

  • Lol, ofc it's Mars.............

  • retard...

  • I got a question.

Can i see saturn good with a 4,5 inch telescope?

  • Course. I only have a 2.5" refractor and I can clearly see saturn and its rings. Its small but its still clear.
