If you're spelling bass clarinet "base clarinet" you aren't worthy of playing the instrument.

Anyways - I play Bb Bass Clarinet (& Bb clarinet, bassoon, piano) and this is absolutely the most amazing same-instrument-quartet group I've ever heard.

Try a harder reed and as your mouth becomes tougher/stronger the high notes will all come together for you. Practice, practice, practice and even we tryers become passable players.
