When Moses (Peace be upon Him) was chosen as a prophet, sorcery was ubiquitous in all the communities he lived in, starting from his backyard. Why would God choose a prophet from a community that practices sorcery?

It is clear for those who read the Bible to see that God had a special purpose for Moses. He is to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt and into God's promised land. Moses life was preserved so that he will fulfill God's will. He didn't just 'happen' to float down the river to be rescued by Pharaoh's daughter and not be subject to the law of killing male jewish babies. Do you have proof that the convulsion that Muhammed experience was a result of a holy presence? Unless you can prove that he is not attacked by an evil Jinn, you cannot claim that what he experienced was an angel. Sorry, but you need to be corrected. This passage is not prophesying Mohammed, because verses 13 through to 15 reveal God's judgement both on them that read and those who cannot, saying "These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me".

The greek term is Ναζωραῖος (the sect) rather than Ναζαρέτ (nazareth the town) no? And that the relationship of the first was created later with the second. Acts 24:5 refers to what they were originally called at that time.

And Nazarene is there, and the link of Nazarene being a person from Nazareth is something made later. I don't think you can make a linguistic transition from one to the other. It's Acts 24:5 that tells us that the early christians were called Nazarenes. Not of Nazareth.
