That's right shotdonkey - CANNED HEAT have "ON THE ROAD AGAIN" on Video on HAAKIE48 - CANNED HEAT Official You Tube Channel - "Don't Forget To Boogie"
yeah, I don`t hear the analogy either: this has more in common with "smokestack lightning" or some of the wolf`s other stuff than with "on the road again" in my view: it just shows the genius of alan blind owl wilson in conjuring up something blues-based but absolutely original, one of the greatest popular songs ever written!
there is an interesting version of "on the road again" by belgian techno pioneers telex, as wellas a great reworking by the brit dubstepper stenchman...check them out!
listen to Dark Road, that sounds like Canned Heat...either way, it's slower but the same song...they're also based on on Tommy Johnson's Big Road Blues...also listen to Canned Heat's The Road Song
I played with Floyd from 1978-80, in Chicago, 2 nights a week. He was certainly one of the deepest bluesmen in history, as well as being an amazingly kind, sweet, and inspiring person. I really miss Floyd.
great post.. Floyd, one of the greats

Thanks. I don't see how this is the original to Canned Heat's song. I don't hear any similarities at all.

Fantastic to hear the original of Canned Heat's cult number. Eerie, sort of, shedding light into the abyss of time...
Thanks for the upload.
