''NANA'' by Andrew Dexter. You went away so long ago in the dim and distant past but i still remember you nana though i was a boy when i saw you last. I think of all the good times and the laughs we used to share, but now those days have gone and you're no longer there. The times have changed so quick indeed and everyone's moved on, its never really been the same since the day that you were gone. One day we will meet again in heaven up above, forever in gods paridise and never ending love.
Hello thank you so much for that. That was amazing. Very sad and i am very sorry for your loss. My Nan died 3 years ago and i am still not over it. It is so hard i think about her all the time. Love to hear back. Love Amy x
Let me garentee one thing for you . death is nothing at all . she knows how you feel and she needs you to do the best with your life to somehow justify the way she was taken by anothers will.take good care.
Thanks for your very personal and touching sharing. I'm not especially religious, but there's a line I remember from Psalm 89. In one translation it is: "For I claim that love is built to last forever."
That's a lovely and very inspiring quote. I'm not especially religious either actually, but I hope that there is an afterlife just so I know my Nana is still 'around'.
WOnderful poem. I just discovered it in the "poetic idol" responses and you've inspired me to dig out one of my own. A really great tribute your nana's memory, Tipples84, there are few people in our lives who can make us feel the way grandparents do. You're surely someone special.
You're welcome Michael, I'm know I'm not the only one who has experienced loss but talking about it helps and reminds me of what a wonderful person she was.
Thanks for watching, I'm happy that you liked it. Thanks for subscribing too, and for posting the honours info. Now I can look back at it and remember how many people gave me their support
So very sorry about the loss of your nana. You will see her again. I know shes watching over you and smiling. Sweet poem. Lovely delivery. Keep writing.
I'm going to be posting some more poetry videos soon, I'm working on a few right now, so when they're finished I'll put them up. Thankyou for saying you loved my poem and for favouriting it too!! :)
Thanks for the compliment Rob, I'm glad my words struck a chord. I just checked out your latest video and left a comment. Hope its not too cold in Canada right now, though I bet its colder than here in the UK!:)
Hey Charli, i loved it , I'm not usually one for poetry but you really moved me you are such a special human being and I'm sure your nan is smiling down on you, my grandma died in 1995 i think of her nearly every day i just wish i could make something as great as this for her..
I'm really pleased you liked it Jay, especially if Poetry's not really ur thang, as it were. and I'm sure your Grandma is proud of you, and would love Ellie so much!
Thanks for commenting. It was really nice of Ben to feature my video. I hope by him doing this that more people get recognised on here, as well as building a sense of community. :)
Really beautiful poem. I wrote a lot of poetry myself. And I lost my aunt about 7 years back- very violently. Funny, I sent her an email (her addy was still working) after she died and I just put all my feelings into it and I had a dream she responded back and told me she was alright and everything would be alright. It helped. :D Love to you.
Lovely poem and really deep words....from you to your Nana. It's shows how much you've loved her and have her in you heart for Eternity! I know for sure, that she is taking care of you from out there!...
That poem was absolutely beautiful. You brought tears to my eyes Charli. Well done. I think we've all lost someone special. I am at present facing the possibility of losing my Dad. He is going to have a quadruple bypass surgery soon. I'm sending you my love...Syd
I lost my "Gram" 5 yrs ago. I loved her like you loved yours. (Though mine was not taken tragically - she lived to be 97!) Lovely poem, and I KNOW she is with you.
I'm glad you liked it Ben (& family). I am writing down my stuff, but I will also post the words in the video description each time. If you want to add a video of mine to your channel, be my guest, it would be an honour to be featured on your page.

Your heart is so tender from the love that you give,
I felt your emotion , in every word, and breath
understand that its your nan sharing her memory, her beauty and grace
she will never leave you, just close your eyes to see her face xxxxxxxx
