conservatives would NEVER talk about helping all the homeless people in this country 'cause they only care about helping the wealthiest and greediest people across this land
this was one of my favorite video's ever I sent it to as many homeless coalitions as I could when it came out. I bet it shows up youtube page one for "homeless" it is a great talk by the great RN
I remember back to the Truman days. Homelessness was not a problem in this country until Reagan became president. Since then, the problem has persisted. Many of them are veterans. But it's popular to blame the problem on drugs and mental illness.
If everyone here would refer to homeless people to one person that could use our help it ewould change America, maybe even the world. Most American people without a home are people with mental illnesses and they couldnt keep there job because of that illness. Most homeless people are homeless are homeless not because they are lazy or just want to give up. They are homless because they need help and we should gve it to them. Hopeless people have the same dreams, and they are human like us.

I am absolutely on board with Reagan's comments -- people are where they are as a result of the choices they make. This liberal socialist pap comprises a line of thought that consistently places blame for poor outcome outside the individual. The shiftless, careless, lazy, bums are homeless courtesy of their poor choices -- and continuing a line of behavior abhorent to all persons that live a life of rational self interest. I do not spit on bums -- they spit on themselves. Cheers.
That may have been true in the past, but things are changing. I've seen more homeless engineers, accountants, and college graduates in general than I've ever seen in my life. I know a middle-aged mechanical engineer who was recently laid off and has been unable find a job. He has been living in his car for the last 4 months and doing day labor for $10/hr.
Only when the elite stop sending the jobs to Chindia, will these issues be resolved.

i agree with ralph nader. we should help the poor by making the rich give up a portion of their salary. Its disgraceful how we even have vietnam and iraq vets on our streets when they should be rewarded for doing their duty. This country needs someone like ralph nader, and we need him now!

Set is an unnamed country, this psychological thriller dares to take on issues of political repression under Obama. When author Sean Pen is promised corporate promotion of his new movie, in exchange for his teaching at an exclusive institute. At this think tank, Sean eventually realizes that for him, as well as for all the other progressives who worked to elect Obama, that he meets there, escape is not an option. The corporate operation seeks to reprogram these thinkers into puppets of the
Sean and the other try to escape, but discover that just by voting for Obama, they have brain washed themselves so deeply into the new fascism, that they cannot escape. This movie presents a glimpse into an internal critique of limitations on freedom of expression and how voting is a form of self brain washing.
Very rarely does free trade truly work in the interests of BOTH societies. We have 'free trade' with Japan, supposedly, but Japan blocks lots of our exports, while at the same time we're IMPORTING tons of things like Japanese electronics and cars.
Even though I'm only 21, I know my history, and I'll never forgive Johnson for getting us in the Vietnam War and Nixon for not getting us out until VERY late. I can never forgive Reagan for being such an asshole and still claiming, with a smile on his face, that everything was a-ok. I can never forgive Clinton for all his interventionist, unconstitutional, bullshit "peacekeeping" missions. I can also never forgive him and Gore for NAFTA.
Bill Clinton could've had the foresight to see what labor leaders and workers had seen yeras before NAFTA's inception: It would do us no good. But he decided to ignore those pleas and kept claiming "Everything's gonna be alright! They're just exaggerating the effects." Well, Clinton, how do you feel about NAFTA NOW?? Do you still think it's a good idea or a total blunder? And what about Al Gore? Does HE still think it's a good idea, esp. when he was referring to Smoot-Hawley in debates?
Free trade only works when the rules are fair, and it's between countries that are similar in economic and class structure, like Canada and America. Trade agreements between two VERY disparate countries in economic strength or structure do not work. It only breeds tension.
We need fair trade. Laissez-faire didn't work in the U.S. economy, and it sure as hell doesn't work in the global economy.
If this country doesn't wake up real soon, we're finished. Hell, one could say we've already been finished for the last 40 years, esp. with the rise of the New Right, which has fucked up our democracy and the Republican Party in ways unimaginable to guys like Nelson Rockefeller, wealthy Republicans who actually cared about more than the upper class. Yes, they did exist at one point.
When Johnson took power after Jack Kennedy's death, this country was never the same. The last truly great pres. was JFK. Clinton was ok, better than Bush, but he still was a far cry from 'one of the best.'
The bottom line is Ralph Nader will point America in the direction we need it to go. Corporations have had a 99.9% success rate in keeping Nader out of the news, out of the debates, even sending police officers after him when he tried to attend the debates as a citizen.
If Nader had more media attention. If he was allowed to debate. His percentage points would go straight through the roof. This man represents America to its core! The other 2 candidates are on a corporate pony ride!
Someone who is not all about the dollar going in his pocket. This is why they won't let him debate. These other two parties already know the questions there going to answer. A man who can talk without a piece of paper in front of him.If America want's a chance and a life for their children and grandchildren this is your man. Go RALPH NADER......
Thanks to my peer who asked the question, since I could not attend the UVM event this go around. Was there in 2004 when RN gave a speech then & I raised the concern and question during the Q&A period at the time. Thanks Ralph!
MN Senator Norm Coleman (R) is a Freemason! He was made a Mason at sight (normal requirements waived) in 2003 by then GrandMaster of Masons in Minnesota, Neil Neddermeyer.
MN Senator Paul Wellstone (D) was killed in a plane crash shortly before the 2002 election.
George W had convinced Norm to oppose Wellstone.
George W is associated with the JFK Jr. plane crash of 7/16/99 and father George HW is associated with the 11/22/63 assassination of JFK by conspiracy theorists.
Wow. Thankyou for sharing.

I truly hope that you WILL EXPERIENCE firsthand HOMELESSNESS & POVERTY!!!!!!! The rich get rich on the backs of the poor & middle class!!!!!!!!! It's NOT their fault. It
comes from GREED & the morons in power that think like you! Why don't you serve in the military? & if you comeback alive, but injured
and end up on the street, will you think it's you're fault? Try walking in someone else's shoes before you make such an idiotic statement!

"Yeah some people like the...."

A presidential candidate talking about the homeless - about damn time.
This is an issue you will never hear McCain and Obama addressing.

I can also never forgive him and Gore for NAFTA.
whoo689 3 years ago 2
Bill Clinton could've had the foresight to see what labor leaders and workers had seen yeras before NAFTA's inception: It would do us no good. But he decided to ignore those pleas and kept claiming "Everything's gonna be alright! They're just exaggerating the effects." Well, Clinton, how do you feel about NAFTA NOW?? Do you still think it's a good idea or a total blunder? And what about Al Gore? Does HE still think it's a good idea, esp. when he was referring to Smoot-Hawley in debates?
whoo689 3 years ago

Vote Nader!

Someone who is not all about the dollar going in his pocket. This is why they won't let him debate. These other two parties already know the questions there going to answer. A man who can talk without a piece of paper in front of him.If America want's a chance and a life for their children and grandchildren this is your man. Go RALPH NADER......
