I travel Branch and Tribute (constellations) alot. I see 10v10 (aprox) almost every day. I see wolf packs that take a whole gang to take down. I see stealthships scouting and ambushing. I see miners getting owned. This game is alive and well. It has more open PVP then any game since ultima online. Be careful carebears; if you ain't blue thats me behind you.

I've seen a lot of videos where they show large epic battles for their games and when you go to play it's normally just three guys talking trash to one another =| How often does somehing like this actually happen in EVE? Seems cool, but Peter Molyneux has made me a cynic when it comes to games.

@Flyingpanzyking large epic battles do happen between the player alliances in eve. often 100's of players are battling it out, sometimes 1000+. (it can get very laggy though) watch the video "EVE Online - World War 3" the biggest all player eve battle, 3000 players.

@Flyingpanzyking Big fleet battles are happening everyday. Is part of the game, players in a corporation defending their own space. Or players taking over another or just being offensive. When there is a fleet battle of 1000 planned, you submit a form to ccp to let them know. Them optimize the servers for less lag. CCP is probably the best fucking game developers out there. They only bring out things in expansions that the player community wants. If you want a buddy link, tell me. 21 days free.

@flippyyyyfan9 The "end-game" of sorts (EVE doesn't really have an end-game) is to join a 0.0 alliance and partake in huge fleet battles. Though it lags quite a lot but you can always find big fights even if when not in a big alliance. So to answer your question, yes.

However, be warned, it has a huge learning curve, and it will take months of training (training skills in EVE is passive) to be able to fly the ships you see in the video. PVE for about 6 months, then you'll have the fortune and skills needed to do well in PVP

thats siege mode... you can fit a module to a dreadnought called a siege module which makes the dread stationary, reduces tracking but increases weapon damage and makes it immune to ECM.

This is actually outdated footage from an older version of the game, you'll notice the difference in effects such as shields and the cynosural jump.

The only obvious post production I noticed was some blur and depth of field effects. There may also be some light colour grading and camera motion changes.

I'm just glad CCP favourited this video giving proper credit to the author instead of the idiotic re-uploads.

I played it. And, well, i'll agree. The game is stunning. I mean, I still got chills after a month as I warp and see this sun eclipse around a passing planet. Heck, all I got to was a Thorax. Only problem was speed. I play Wow, and as you know, it's faster paced. Sure, it probably picks up later on, but for me, I felt slowed down. I felt I was giving CCP my money just for me to wait for it to get good. Shame really.

The speed is part of the wonders about eve. I agree you really need to find people you know and make friends, its hard doing things on your own other then missions. The great part of eve is once your with people, you can help even if all you can fly is a frig. Fleet combat is amazing and there is no adrenalin rush in any other game that can compare to pvp in eve. Possibly loosing a ship its taken you a day-a few months to earn is amazing. Same goes for the person you killed... :P

meh it's not that noticeable if you run several accounts. You train a long skill and get busy on another character you tend to not notice the time as much. Also I love it since you can't really power level characters. I'm so done with power leveling alts.
