  • James H. Klippel has desiged passive solar organic cottages for the limited budget.

The architecture is made modular and may be added onto as the income and need requires. See the video, Solar Cottage for the modest budget.

  • Some inspiring ideas have been suggested here. And also some practical information has been provided.

  • I converted my home to a net-zero solar powered home that uses no oil or gas....

  • 100 bucks for a lamp that i cant change light bulbs in? f dat

  • @arktikgraywolf led lights don't really burn out that fast. they last a hella long time, cause there's really no way to break one in just using one

  • not bad, quite informative, the best site to get started working at home is Heavy Dollars (search it) - its very well layed out, it helps me make extra $'s. I found that the online store is fantastic and practically runs itself

  • Controlling your house via web, and ofcourse iphone, the big selling point.

Safety last being the motto here then :D

  • The more consumers that want better technology, the more available it will become as producers, manufacturers, and Retailers realize there is a market for them. Computers, cell phones etc. Items that were horribly expensive are now more affordable and common place.

  • message me for fast lockerz invites

  • Technologies are getting more inexpensive.

  • that`s cool, but costs a ton of money

  • I want a custom home

  • Beautiful Washing-Machine [ 0:34 ] :X

  • i love my generation

  • what's up with ads now..

  • Makes me laugh how they want us all to become enery efficient but its not very practical when not many people can afford all of this high tec stuff including myself. If we want a better world they need to become better for working class people to afford.

  • So don't you think that's why they have things like this? Maybe more people can become aware of their options, and the more people that can buy into these technologies the cheaper it becomes for you. Amazing stuff huh?

  • the world is now a small village i am talking to you from miles and miles away ...actually like i am on your dining room ...wont you give something to drink :)

  • @Cozzi0

The solar decathlon now has provisions for encouraging teams to make the homes more affordable for the 2011 competition. I doubt there'll be any million dollar solar homes the next time around, although it's hard still with the technology that 's available being quite expensive still.

  • @Cozzi0 that is the point of this entire competition--to bring Green to everybody and show how it can become the norm. You know, like electric lighting, horseless carriages, hand-held phones and reasonably small computers for use in private residences.

  • @Cozzi0

Edison is offering a program and it's zero cost up front and the rebate pays for the installing.

  • @Cozzi0

Rarely is new innovative technology affordable. It costs money to experiment with new ideas, but if the idea proves successful enough, then it will be mass produced with cheaper parts for us working class people.

  • great work

some day houses might cost nothing just the building =P

  • these comments werent forwarded to the video

    its an interesting video

  • 100$ leds??? sure... i get 10 of them... bhahahaha

  • It would be a hell of a lot cheaper to chop down your neighbor's trees and burn 'em in your fireplace.

  • Everything had such a ridiculously high price tag! Only rich motherfuckers could ever afford this fucking Jetson technology. Why don't you give the shit away, you fucking motherfuckers? I'm sick of all the technotease you always wave under our noses and laugh inside knowing full-well none of us can ever afford your fucking gee-wiz toys! Go fuck yourselves!

  • in the end, the "GREEN" movement's goal is for people to get less for more money, simply put, we have to give up things to save the world, well the truth is we can't save the world or destroy the world, man has not yet obtained the technology to destroy the earth, even if every bomb went off at once, life would still go on, i mean scientist say a asteroid wiped out the Dinosaurs, and the earth was in golfed in flames in one giant explosion, yet why do we still have life? life will always go on,

  • ooo datz koo

  • cool stuff! it's always exciting to hear about innovations like this, and in the not so distant future, as long as civilization doesnt crumble we should see a lot more awesome stuff like this that is accessable to the general public. It's exciting!

  • Their House Costs about like mine But Mine is bigger in shape, Their's is bigger in Forniture Or how ever it's spelled

  • enough of this solar powered BS

i want to have a nuclear reactor at the heart of my home

    =P

  • Same here!

  • Same lol and i want to top it all off with a fusion reactor AS WELL.

  • She should do the interview in a bikini.

  • Great innovation, there is a lot to improve!

  • first
