  • Its not called BENT OVER ROWS for nothing. Your supposed to bent over with your torso parallel to the floor. Also teaching people to raise the bar to chest for rear delts is going to ruin alot of lower backs. You should just stick to looking good not giving out Poor and wrong instructions

  • thanks chris, my goal is to be like arnold and the only way to get my back even close to his would be to include this exercise. I've been working out for 2 years but never thought of trying it until I read in muscle&fitness that arnold was able to do 315 pound bent over barbell rows and that was why his back looked as it did. So now I know how to do it haha thanks again

    Thank you for what has to be the most comprehensive and thorough explanation and guide to the BB Bent Over Row.

    That was also the first time the differences between the width of one's grip has been properly explained to me.

  • I was trying to do 100kg with conventional bench press width grip, no wonder it felt like crap lol. SHOULDER WIDTH + RETRACT SCAPULA + PINCH LATS :) Lower at half the speed all the way to the bottom and repeat - nice video ma'am!

  • After 10 seconds showing the right position, 25 seconds until demonstrating the correct movement, 35 seconds until explaining what movement trains what muscle, 48sec until doing the first repetition, second exercise after 1.20min and all done in 1:45min - most people still would be talking about whatever by now without having anything done yet. Well thank you. That' s how a instruction-video should be.

  • I done my faggot personal trainer course as well, but it is disturbingly bullshit with incorrect techniques due to paranoia of getting sued. Ill stick to my 20 years lifting experience. That was woeful form, u turned it into half a shrug!

  • My legs are longer than my arms proportionately and I keep screwing up my lower back on rows. I never thought of raising the barbell enough so I don't have to do a deadlift/row abomination.

  • If you do the wide grip version, does this exercise work the rhomboids and help correct forward rounding of the shoulders/.

  • @thaibasil827 the wide grip will work the rear deltoids more which will help with forward rounding of the shoulders, in addition to doing stretches for the chest.

  • I guess with the way that you're doing it pulling it into your chest as opposed to your waist would work the rear delts more, but the bent over row is not designed to work the rear delts, it's made for the lats and upper back muscles! I don't really see why you'd wanna use this as a rear delt movement. Also, nothing wrong with keeping your head up you form nazi :P

  • @iknowme1 You work your anterior (front) deltoid (shoulder) when you do bench press. When you do rows, you work your posterior deltoid.

  • fantastic form, but the shorts are too bright.

  • Don't forget that the rhomboids and lower/mid traps are major movers in this exercise. The lats are stimulated more during vertical type pulls.
