Shelf clouds are associated with descending cold air, wall clouds are associated with rising air and updrafts, that's why wall clouds can often spawn tornadoes
A gustnado looks like a tornado, but it actually has more in common with a dust devil. They can form when a strong updraft begins to rotate, but doesn't connect with the cloud base. Can still produce impressive winds, but not as powerful as a true tornado can get
Very nice thunder you got here, Mikey...nice nice rumbles...nice radar-graphic image..and also having your NOAA-weatherradio tuned in also... Wish you could see my own scud-cloud, CG-bolted infested 8/4/95-Tstorm... you'd love it!!((from southern RI))...
Very nice film ya got here mike!I like to hunt down thunderstorm myself. The sound of the storm is just great,i hate when anoters have music on their thunderstorms movies..the noice of the storm is very important to hear, just like the lighting itself.
Thanks, I appreciate the nice comments. I also hate it when people put music overtop of the sound of a nice storm. I chase in a Saab by the way :) Love Sweden.
mrzoda88...I agree with you 100%-ly... when I check out any YouTube-Tstorm videos...I too ***only*** want the actual live thunder, all UNedited, UNsynchronized, and UNmusic-ed... and if and when I show my videos to anyone...the actual thunder is what all will GET, heeeheee
Haha... you got that right! =^) The easterly shear should be letting up as TD4 moves farther west, so we should start seeing some strengthening relatively soon.
WHAT a sky! Looks like it wants to vomit. Great footage!

Can shelf clouds spawn tornados?

Gustnados.

What is a Gustnado? How do they form? Because we had a storm that had these types clouds, and I thought I saw some tornados.

Thanks Mike - enjoyed that. I'm surprised you didn't get at least a gustnado-type waterspout as the gust front passed by.

Thanks, especially coming from a pro. I'm sure your watching the tropics closely and have your batteries charged.
