My local Lazerquest used to play this in the mid nineties as we all ran round shouting 'game over, game over man'. The Terminator was in thee also. Ah memories.
This cue was even used in promotions for alien 3 and AVP1. I think it would be awesome if this was used in a trailer for Prometheus, or let alone have James Horner do the music for Prometheus.
I think this is the best Soundtrack Ever. In fact, the part of minute 1:07 is the most used in movie trailers of the history of Cinema. Good Job Mr. Horner! ;-)
1:07 that part !!! That part of the song... they use it in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy's trailer ! ... here here... just at 0:50 of this trailer ---> /watch?v=MbGNcoB2Y4I
@orochirel This has been used in almost countless trailers, it's that *iconic* - build suspense and... BOOM! No movie has actually delivered on the promises suggested by the use of this cue in the trailer...
@orochirel Yes, this is where the trailer music for almost every action film made over the last 20 years originally comes from. Aliens is a really good score (I'm not a Horner fan) which was completed under very difficult cirucmstances by Horner and was also his first Oscar nomination. Part of an unused 'Aliens' cue was used at the end of 'Die Hard'.
@orochirel Yes, Horner composed this for Aliens. A partial list of *trailers* where it's been used: • Aliens • Man on Fire (1987) • The Abyss (1989) • Misery (1990) • Nightbreed (1990) • Deceived (1991) • The People Under the Stairs (1991) • Shattered (1991) • Alien3 (1992) • Ghost in the Machine (1993) • The Good Son (1993) • The Vanishing (1993) • Blown Away (1994) • The Puppet Masters (1994) • Timecop (1994) • Broken Arrow (1996) • From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) • Alien: Resurrection (1997) ...
@shadowfox1383 Actually, I run out of space in the Reply field. Well, might as well list the rest of the trailers: Apt Pupil (1998) - TV Trailer • Lake Placid (1999) • Minority Report (2002) • The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005) • The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005) - Internet Trailer. I'm really surprised if this list is complete.
@Abdul8578 Thanks! Misery I already listed, but the Deep Blue Sea trailer I will have to check out - I found a list on the net that lists re-cycled cues from many movies, and if Bishop's Countdown is in the DBS trailer, that list needs updating! :)
@orochirel And this is quite funny: in 1997 it was *also* used in the trailers for *both* Dante's Peak and Volcano - talk about "every idea in Hollywood comes with a double"!
@thisusernamenowtaken Oh. You said that no movie has actually delivered on the promises suggested by the use of this cue in their trailers. I say that Aliens itself is the only exception - remember, this musical cue WAS used in the Aliens trailer. And the voiceover saying "THIS TIME IT'S WAR" makes it even more epic.
@SigmaXVirus Oh, very observant! You are right, I should have said "No *other* movie", and *that* would have been correct. I completely agree on the tagline part.
I play this in the car when im late for work cutting everybody off

There was just something about watching those two action scenes with Ripley and hearing this in the background, they just synced it perfectly.
