  • this is more modern........no wok hei....hmm it can be helpful to americans who can not cook chinese...but this is not traditional chinese food...

  • @seniorwisdom Yes, I like modern, fresh Asian flavors and easy techniques. You're right, I don't teach 'traditional.' Most associate 'traditional' with restaurant style food which is deep fried with goopy sauces, not very healthy. Home cooking doesn't mean not enough 'wok hei.' My portable butane gas stove puts out 12,000 btu! It's better than most residential stoves because it's more powerful and focused. You don't need 40,000 btu at home.

  • woks are great! theyre very versatile. you can use it for everything for real! food can just be pushed aside right on the wok and then stirred in later on.

  • You're right woks are versatile. It's BEST to fry veggies and meat separately because they don't cook at the same rate. No need to push up sides where they're overcooking. Try it, you'll be more successful.

  • you dont need a wok burner if you have a gas stove. woks work better with high heat that why those modern electric stoves are useless.

  • I also did a version of this with Spring onions, carrots, bok choy, green bell pepper, bacon and marinated chicken pieces. I also added a dash of ABC kecap manis for balancing the salty flavors from the soy sauce. Doing this with prawns was also a big hit on the family table.

  • YUM, great to hear you're trying different variations.

  • If you visit my website, eleanorhoh dot come, you will read hundreds of very successful Wok Stars who love their woks and burners. My husband's video Care and Feeding of wok shows if he can do it, ANYONE can. If you open your umbrella and be open to trying a new approach to wok cooking, you will find it's easier than you think!

  • I could kill for meal like that!!!!1

  • It's easier than you think to make this. Try it with some ingredients you have in your fridge.

  • lol :O

  • is this cooking or science? urghh

  • cooking is science

  • I think cooking is creative unlike baking which is more science? Can you expand what you mean?
