Besides, a global language would evolve and adapt with all it's contributing participants, and it would take only 100 years for the theoretical language to become a language of its own. Kaku is one of the few scientists to say publicly that the 6-day timeline in Genesis might be right, and gives a scientific reason for it. English is a dominant language because the US and other English-speaking nations have a lot of influence in the world. BUT I absolutely hate being called a terrorist because I don't want some overpowering world government. Go to Steve Jackson Games site and read on technology levels (TL), Kaku is talking about TL 8+, we're in transition from TL7 to 8 now.

@doomdayjudge He's only making a guess because the current common trade language is English (not a solely American language, btw). Besides, a global language would evolve and adapt with all it's contributing participants, and it would take only 100 years for the theoretical language to become a language of its own. Bet you missed the part where he mentioned the European Union, too. He meant this to display a move toward protecting all cultures and human rights.

@jonandra I didn't miss him mentioning the EU, but as a resident of the EU I'm not convinced that it's entirely a good thing. Right now human rights and the freedom of expression is somewhat on the back burner. The reason for the English languages popularity is that it's simple - easy to learn, easy to use. Other colonial languages such as Portuguese, Spanish and Dutch are more demanding - that's why they didn't catch on. French I'm not going to mention. And NWO? No thanks.

We may all hear the same WORDS, but it's what we read into them that differs - and that causes misconceptions and other problems.
