  • You're a good teacher !!!

    Thanks

  • lascia stare!

  • I want to thank you for your time, you have really helped me with this song!!!

  • first let me thank you for putting your self out here and teach us how to play the guitar i just have a question at 2:39 you tell us to strum 2 downs 4 ups 1 down 1 up 1 down then at 4:06 insted of the 9 times we strum you say to strum only 8 times that confused a little since am a beginner so my question is does it make a difference if its 8 or 9 times we strum while changing chords?

  • great spirit

  • Ha ha...you're funny, I like your enthusiasm!!!!........good teaching method too!....you're a good man!

  • i want to slap u!

  • pelo amor de Deus, fala menos e toca mais!!!! puta que pariu.. fala menos e toca mais!!! ninguem quer ouvir sua voz nao, só ver voce tocar!!!

  • good vid . i've included a U2 song in my 'Top Ten easiest guitar riffs series'

  • I can't play and sing at the same time, I don't know, I'm getting confused. Please help me? Is there eny special style, that can helps me?

  • If you are new at the guitar you must perfect that first i.e. chord positions, strumming and rythmn. Try to think the melody in your head first. Be disciplined and learn the guitar first. Otherwise, it will all be too hard, and you will be found out, and leaving your guitar under the bed. Hope everyone has a Merry Xmas and a happy guitar new year. FF

  • please speak less, and play more too long to download

  • quelqu un peu traduire ... en tout cas c est exelent

  • Cheers frank great teaching method

  • amazing energy Frank!

  • Frank, Can you clarify the strumming a bit for me? Is that DD UUU DUD ? Or is it DD UUUU DUD?

  • yea, what is it? he said the frist one at the start then said the second one later...

  • @rcbipe It's a while ago you asked this.

But just in case you never got an answer i've just learn't this song and the strum pattern i'm using is DD UU U DUDU . So for the 3 up strums I have a little pause between the second and third. Like frank says everyone probably strums it slightly different but I find that strum works well for the tempo.

I always struggled with rthyme but after practising solid for a couple of years it's become almost second nature. cheers

  • Thank you Frank. I learned how to play this song very quickly because of you. Now I just have to play more smoothly. I liked how you brought more content about the song and how it relates to the artist. I too have a troubled relationship with my dad.

  • Great but... your voice is too loud when you talk, relax ^^

  • I started playing the guitar a few months ago. It has been a musical journey. I had the theory in hand but i needed some references in order to explore and improve my technique. YouTube has been my teacher since day one. A lot of you folks who post guitar video lessons have contributed in my progress towards becoming a better player. I continue learning every day from you folks.

Your contribution makes a difference !

    Thanks again.

    Keep Rocking !

    AL.

  • Good job..and keep including the strumming patterns in your lessons it helps a lot.

  • he look like that manager/devil guy in guitar hero 3...

  • merci ! =)

  • coglione sei un coglione

  • It doesnt matter if you go down or up , you gotta get a feeling for it.

  • Fantastic lesson, thanks so much.

I'm am struggling with the strumming - think you give two different strumming patterns - the first time you say:

Down Down Up Up Up Up Down Up Down (9 notes)

but then you go on to say

Down Down Up Up Up Down Up Down

Any help would be massively appreciated as I am such a beginner this doesn't come very naturally to me.

  • Yes I've noticed this too. In actuality the strumming pattern he uses is neither of these, but is rather:

Down Down Up Up Up Down Up Down Up

Which i broke up in to:

    DDUU | UDUDU

  • !!!

  • THANK YOU!!!!! SO SO MUCH.. great job.. I don't know how to play guitar all that well, but this lesson really helped.

  • excelent lesson thx m8

  • Many Thanks Frank!!

  • thanks you realy helped me

  • You are the man, thanks for making such a cool song easily within my reach

  • The strumming is not 100%

if you play the Am chords it sounds nice if you do 2 hammer-ons with your middle-and indexfinger.

The same for the Dsus4 chord, a hammer-on with your middle finger helps you maintain a good rythme.

Nonetheless a very well made lesson, i really like your lessons.

    Good job!
