Seeing these advertisement videos, you'd think it would be paradise. However, hell it is. I used to believe the tourist pitch, then I actually spent time there. If there is a more fractious, pretentious, unproductive national culture anywhere else in the world, name it. The people living there spent 20 of the last 30 years butchering each other with a viciousness that defies acceptance even as a form of barbarism. Lebanon today unfortunately is far from any culture, Arab or otherwise.
