Shen can manipulate whomever he wants. I mean look at the Wolves and the Gorillas, he promised them power and scared them in to thinking he could destroy them if he wanted, he scared them into submission. That is what makes him great, he plays mind games with you and makes you feel like your not good enough. Because of his self-centered ways and the way he carries himself, he makes you want his approval, that's why the wolves stay around, they thrive on what little to no empathy he has left. <3

Tai Lung, as stated in the commentary, was a villian who thought himself 'the hero of his own story', which is a very apt summary of his character. Tai Lung thinks himself a martyr.

Shen is more psychopathic; he clearly lacks empathy and remorse. While he had no need to manipulate his followers, he has massive charisma and superficial charm, as well as being egocentric. He also has poor behavioural control - going from calm to raging and back again in just a few seconds.

However, he can plan long-term ambitions and seems to have normal emotional capacity, which psychopaths do not. Then again, those two traits are necessary to create a villian that we can respect and feel for - Shen's dedication and depth make him come to life.

So yeah, that's my crazy detailed analysis. I love both Tai Lung and Shen though :3

I love the part where Po throws his hat and it soars through the air but then anticlimactically floats to the ground. LOL! But i cant remember what he says before he throws it.... lol

I really like Shen's theme.

It's dark and menacing, just like him, but it has a certain touch of sorrow and depression, and dissapointment, which really fits Shen's backstory and personality perfect. This is something not many character themes manage to do well, which is why Hans Zimmer, AND John Powell, I salute you.
