how do you mix songs that have a too big bpm difference? beatmatching is easy when bpm is equal, but somethimes its like 128 and 140. how do you do that? i'm kinda stuck here with just crossfading really fast :p
@devidia Both Dubstep and Trance tracks usually have a BPM of 140. To mix into tracks that have a lower BPM (or vice versa), the best thing to do is slightly increase/decrease the tempo to a midpoint as the song progresses. You don't want to speed up/slow down tempo immediately for obvious reasons. However, a gradual change in tempo won't alarm the audience.
Start with a 128bpm electro track and gradually increase to about 133-135bpm. Then, cue up your 140bpm track at the same tempo.
@alwaysnakedd Then, you can adjust the track you just mixed in back to it's original tempo if you feel necessary :) I would recommend a 140bpm Trance track before you start messing with dubstep. The count can be tricky for beginners!
@alwaysnakedd and i feel like throwing in a quick dnb song in between 2 electro songs? i'm getting the sense that there isn't really a good way to do this but to just cut the electro song real fast
@devidia looping! try looping 4-8 beats of your dnb song then mixing that into your first electro track. It's a bit tricky going from 1-2-3-4 to 1-and-3-and-1-etc. Try it on a drum section after a drop. Then loop your intro of your next electro track and do the same. i will make a tutorial tonight/tomorrow.
