i've been taking piano lessons from kindergarten to 6th, then my sisiter transferred so i lost contact with my teacher because it was almost a requirement to do piano in my elementary school but i only started playing actually songs from singers like paul or celtic thunder when i started 7th grade. i play the vocal notes though, its easier to get tuned in with the song. i think your turorials will be my next piano teacher!
Thanks for the great lesson! This was my first time playing piano ever. And I was able to nail this half within about an hour and a half! Moving on to part two next!

I enjoy vew your tutorials. I love this song, in particular. I was wonder if you might have "What a Fool Believes" by Michael McDonald / The Doobie Brothers?
Hey I was wanting to know if you had any tips for this song, for some reason I can't learn this song I was able to learn HeyJude, Let It Be, Dear Prudence, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Getting Better, Imagine, and most of A Day In The Life. But, for some reason I can't learn this one every time I play it doesn't sound good, there is something missing. Also do you have any suggestions on what song I should try next.
@TheMightyPinto: It could be the rhythms that are throwing you off on this one, I'm not sure. The vocals are slightly off beat from the instrumental, almost syncopated. That might be where the problem is, I'm not sure. You might want to try Mother Nature's Son, which is about the same difficulty level as the others you mentioned. Let me know!
Hey John! I've never played, but thanks to your videos I can do Hey Jude, the Long and Winding Road, Imagine, Getting Better, and Your Song pretty well. Any suggestions as to which of your other songs would be the easiest to learn? Thanks for all your help and keep up the great work!
Hey, great job on learning those songs, Dlslml15, very cool! You might try Let It Be, which is on the easier side of the scale, and if you like Billy Joel songs, "She's Got a Way" has a slower tempo and fewer chords than many of his other songs. Try those, and let me know how it goes!
Thanks for your instruction - and what a beautiful song...I love working out songs by ear but it's those gorgeous 6th chords and specific inversions which can be hard to hear. They make all the difference though and I hope my sister will love this song when I play it at her 60th. Good to meet you!

Slasher441 6 months ago
@Slasher441 Which part of the video?
pianojohn113 6 months ago
@pianojohn113 right after the begining cords
Slasher441 6 months ago
@Slasher441 The arpeggio goes up the A major chord.. just use the notes of the A7 (A, C#, E, G etc.) and work your way up.
pianojohn113 6 months ago
What do you mean by "kind of slightly arpeggiate up the a scale? What notes to you hit?

@anishinaabe You take the notes of the A scale, which are A, B, C#, D, E, F#, and G#, and play them individually in an upward fashion.
