  • u look so cute

  • Say something O__O

  • So the closed hd212 leaks more sound than half-closed hd555? Or is it just because hd555 have higher impedance, therefore play quieter on the same output volume?

  • Next time please wear a mask or something. Or maybe a bag. THanks.

  • are you using the 50 or the 120Ohms impedance hd555?

  • lol nub comparing headphones with an ipod rofl true audio professional

  • @Zazmiz that insult would have been way more awesome if you didn't ruin it with lol and rofl.

  • @Zazmiz considering the majority of people that will be watching this video are likely to use an ipiod or other mp3 device what would be the point of using an audiophile set up. if your the sort of person thats going to spend around £200 atleast! on a descent headphone amp and Hi-Fi set up then i doubt you would use these phones to be honest

  • @cockyt4523 You apparently never even listened to the HD555s, you can pay 100€ more if you want but you will not find anything better within this price range.

Also listening with mp3 players with these headphones is just wasting quality audio equipment.

Get yourself sennheisers cx300s if you listen with portable players.

However if you have a decent sound card or sound equipment, you cant go wrong with the 555s.

  • @Zazmiz oh and gg comparing open headphones with closed ones....

    youtube is fail

  • @Zazmiz

lol she was comparing the volume of the audio which leaks, not the sound quality so you're a complete fail

  • @Zazmiz The 212's are easily driven with an iPod and she's just showing sound leak anyway so you could use any audio source.

  • @Zazmiz its beena year since you made that comment so i think you already know ipod plays FLAc and 320kbps files better than a zune lol......

  • @KashgroundTM comparing anything with a portable device is a joke

and ipods don't even play flacs

  • @Zazmiz lol thats why it has a flac player?do you even have a fucking ipod?

  • @Zazmiz since you have no idea what im talking about, jailbreak your device and get the fucking flac player you shouldve known about on a machine you clearly think you know everything about

  • @KashgroundTM jailbreak my ipod? oh okay right, since when does an ipod run ios?

you seem to have no clue what you are talking about.

the 555s also sound much better with an amp, try shoving that in your iphone.

  • @Zazmiz ....ipods dont run run ios?....what the fuck did you just say?are you fucking crazy of course they run ios

  • @KashgroundTM iPod Nano's don't you dipshit.

  • @chubman1234 who the fuck uses an ipod nano?Anyways,You will need a cable that has 3.5mm jac on one end and two audio output, attach the two audio pins to the amplifier's audio input [right and left] and plug the 3.5mm jack into the ipod's headphones out. Now play the music on the ipod and switch the input of the ipod on the amplifier, you're done...

  • @chubman1234 seriously need to actually use some sort of search engine instead of telling people such bullshit.especially people with 2 inch nano 6gs that suck ass

  • @Zazmiz amps work with ipods...............

  • @pcuser1024 no I'm not starting a personal attack, what do you need to know that is technical for the sound leak comparason? Wither she knows about them or not it is a good example for people who don't give a shit. Its a basic idea of the sound leak. For example, I used this video to help me buy the first pair over the second because the sound leak on the second is really bad.

  • wow there very load! gd video and ur very beautiful! =P

  • This supposedly leak test is a failure. You need to understand the technical aspects of them before you can review headphones.

  • @PCUser1024 You're a failure. Some people don't want to go into the technical details.

  • @Spyder638 Starting a personal attack?

She doesn't need to go into the technical aspects of the products during the review, but her lack of understanding of them has resulted in a comparison with questionable conclusion.

  • @PCUser1024 =D

    PCUser1024 YOU ROCK !!

  • 5* for bein hot!

  • my hd212's cable just broke :(

  • You're lush

  • What can replace HD555 for an ipod if you want this rich sound quality but don't want to disturb people around??

  • @metacotix Audio-Technica ATH-A700 or ATH-M50

  • sennheiser hd 448

  • good to know...not getting 555s anymore

  • PIKACHU! I CHOOSE YOU!

  • psh. it's way easier with bulbasaur.

  • mudkip all the way

  • That is silly, while the HD-555's have a 50 OHM resistance (Makes them pretty sensitive) Dont put Audiophile headphones on an Ipod, at least use your soundcard output.

  • if anything is worthless its your brain, debiaptget. Like you said the headphones have different resistivity ( most people call it impedance ) and this comparison sheds light on that.

    cheers, internet tard #3234923409

  • I thought the purpose of this comparison was to compare the sound leaks. If the the two headphones doesn't have the same impedance/sensibility they will not produce the same amount of sound at a given level. If the amount of sound towards the ears is not the same, then it is irrelevant to compare the sound leaks at a given level either.

  • This "comparison" is useless : the two headphones probably have different resistivity and sensibility.

  • MGMT is awesome. simply awesome.

  • you turn it SO LOUD gonna damage your ears

  • If you'd move that camera a little higher...we'd see something else....gotta be careful ! : P

  • nice review, good try

  • You'r VERY Pretty ! :)

  • Hey thanks for the comparision there, really helped! I was wondering about the diff between closed type heaphones and open ear like HD555. Now I know open ear types are not for me!

  • I bought my HD212 pro at my local Guitar Center for 59$.

Before I had bought HD 205 from best buy which I returned them immediately due to lack of bass, but HD 212 has very good bass and I love it :)

  • I just ordered a pair of HD 212 Pros, I just hope they're an improvement on my dying HD202s.

I like my bass, but I'm not to meffed about the HD212 Pros having a lot by default because I can EQ at the PC. I'm just hoping the clarity is equal or better than the 202s.

  • Does that ipod adaptor thing come with the headphones? please someone help

  • it does in fact come with them

  • yeah.. im prolly gonna buy some hd555's

btw, you need to keep making more videos! its been too long..

  • the 212 pros are alot better. lately it seems that all audio companies are striving towards treble more than bass, which is the opposite of what we want

  • I love treble!

  • shes peerty lol

  • how are these on ipods?

  • the hd 555 are the best the ever were

  • 595 better :D

  • i would love to get 595s over these, but the price jump between the two is too great for me right now. looks like i'll be going with the 555 :\

  • Not that huge amount of difference between the two for that huge price jump. Just minor. Not worth it. If you get the cash, better get the HD600 which are better IMO than even the HD650 (too much bass). If you get a hedphone amp, the HD555's will sound very similar to the HD595's, and i htink it's still cheaper with the amp.

  • alright, thanks for the advice. i'll keep that in mind

  • I'm thinking about picking up some HD595's, what kind of a portable player should I pair them with for the best sound quality? (Obviously not an iPod. D: )

  • The first one is the 212, the second one is the 555.

  • woulve been better if you said which headphone you tested first.

  • Isn't it obvious?

  • which one was the hd 555 the one at the end or beginning ? and the hd 212's were?

    D:<?

    someone reply pl0x D:<

  • great video

  • i bought the 555s and sent them back as the sound seemed compressed with no real clarity or drive.i last had a pair of sennheisers 30 years ago (black plastic headband with removable yellow sponge pads, very light)and they blew me away but havent got them anymore.

  • kids = greatest song in the universe

  • Yeah. Tis very good.

  • pretty girl, and our taste are same O_O

  • Great vid. Really helped me. I actually bought the 555's and this review helped me along the way.

  • I like your smile :)

  • hi

i have the HD 215 and the HD 202. I am very happy with the 215 that gives a honest and precise sound, no more or less bass. The 202 adds bass and it s nice too for movie or different style of music. I want to buy a 3rd one, and maybe it will be the 212. I heared a lot abt it. I buy only closed ones, so the 555 is not for me, even if it looks not bad too. Ty for ur review...

btw u r a cute and lovely girl, but i am not the 1st who tell u this certainly :)

  • i was gonna get the Sennheiser PC350 for $205AU but at the last second i decided not to. id rather save the money for a FANTASTIC sound card. i am thinking of getting a pair of sennheiser HD555 and a rly gud sound card. i game a LOT and listen to music on my comp heaps to. i ONLY use my headphones for these games: Quake 3 and Urban Terror, mainly becoz prefer headphones for serious gaming over my Logitech G51's.would you recommend the HD555's for my use? no need for a mic. how r the Medusa 5.1??

  • Dont get the Medusa. The surround sound headphone deal is a gimmick. You will have FAR better spatial awareness with the HDs than with the Rzrs, not to mention SQ that blows them out of the water. Ive gamed extensively with my 555s and theyre excellent. In CS and BF, u can hear where shots were fired from and turn to the source immediately. The only thing lacking is bass. Its there and precise, but it isnt a head-thumping experience. This could be a deal-breaker, but go somewhere else if it is.

  • k thanks. i bought the ATH-AD700 for $180AU WITH shipping brand new :)

  • sooooooooooooooooooooo cute.

  • I think you need a headphone amp to get the most out of those headphones

  • amp for hd555s, yes.

the hd212s don't need an amp.

  • It's not about having an "amp". You need something that doesn't run on "AA" or "AAA" batteries. High end phones need hard wired juice DARN IT!

  • Totally agree

HD 555s dont need an amp they just need some HQ sound rather than an mp3 player driving them, I connect mine to my tv's phono socket and they sound amazing for movies, games and music

  • what are amps?

  • Yeesh that is a lot of sound leakage. And I don't like people "eavesdropping" on my music--especially since most people around here think trance/electronica/jazz/classical is ghey. I am also respectful of others' privacy so... I am a bit put off by that. Of course I don't remember having much of an issue with my open-designed HD457s.

  • u are so damn hot! lol

  • hi i was wondering were you using/do you use inline head phone amplifiers?

  • No, mostly because I'm too lazy to get one, and I'm pretty happy with the sound they churn out on their own. A lot of people will disagree though.

  • thanks for your reply! I went ahead and pulled the trigger on getting cmoy amp prior to your reply, it can't hurt to try right? I plan on just using these headphones on my macbook and possibly the ipod whenever i'm just hanging around. thanks again for your help!

  • I love my 555's. I modded them so you can see the internal components through the outer grill. Looks pretty cool, but now they leak like crazy! This is okay since I pretty much only use them in my room. But when I put my volume about halfway or so it sounds like I'm blasting my eardrums out (if I were a bystander to..umm myself).

  • your so pretty!

  • I have the same phones! They are awesome, yeah are perfect even with classes on too.

  • I'm surprised your iPod can push the 555s.

  • 555s are really low impedance

  • Yeah, but 50 ohm is still pretty high for a handheld player.

  • AWESOME!!!! Thanks for the help... REALLY REALLY appreciate it. You're the most helpful anyone has been throughout my 'obsession' with the HD555s. If you see someone one day on the bus looking like a douchebag around Perth, you'll know that u helped him out tremendously... hehehe
