If you hold Andrea's voice lost it's pleasant timbre I really feel sorry for you. Probably you haven't listened to him recent recordings enough. I think his voice has changed in a good way over the last couple of years, and I know many people think the same.

me. But I can tell you also that I felt and heard nothing special at Maestro Domingo's concert, except for the decent rendition of Granada. Don't get me wrong, I like Placedo Domingo and admire his enormous lifetime work. I own almost all his MET performances in Dvd. But I think his voice is very far from his old one. Anyway regarding Nessun Dorma, I can tell you that I have heard Andrea sing the famous high notes ten times better than in this recording. But again, let's wait for the other ones

Have you been there or you just make a judgement after listening to this performance recorded with a tiny camera which sounds completely different than another tiny camera?

Have you ever heard both of them sing live?

Because I have been fortunate enough to be at Placedo's concert 3 years ago and Andrea's concert 2 years ago. I can tell you that I felt just like in heaven when I have been attending Andrea's concert.With words I cannot describe the feelings and the emotions his singing evoked in

I just saw this clip and the clip of Nessun Dorma, the encore from the same concert. Frankly, I am shocked at how bad he sounds, Andrea Bocelli. One thing is that his voice has lost the pleasant timbre it used to have (at least at this concert) but verse is the way that he phrase, constantly being behind or after the music, cutting notes short, etc. Even at 68 years, Domingo's voice has much more sheen and beauty - and there is no comparison with respect to the phrasing.

I have heard Andrea sing this better, that is a fact.

There is an excellent version with Bryn Terfel on here.

Andrea's voice has not lost its "pleasant timbre", as other videos from this concert on here will show.

I rather think it was nerves that got him here, as it was of course a great excitement and honour for him to sing this is in his "backyard" with Domingo.

Thanks so much for posting this. It is my husbands favourite and I so much wanted him to hear the 2 Maestro singing this. I too was there, a totally magical weekend, the Prova was fantastic too, alas without Domingo Thanx again
