@xDXPxJOEx456x1 Thanks. I wanna get a record player one day. I love vinyls. My dad still has 4 of his KISS records. He was in the KISS Army. Lol I'm the Big 4 Army if you ask me.
@HardyBoyFan101 lol i love vinyl to i own iron maidens first 8 albums on vinyl all original releases unfortunately the only megadeth i have on vinyl is so far so good so what i would love to get rust in peace but the record store i go to doesn't cary any megadeth vinyl
@xDXPxJOEx456x1 Damn. That's like the Walmart from where I live except they're CDs. The only Big 4 band there is Metallica. So I go to Iowa City to Best Buy and go to a REAL CD section.
@HardyBoyFan101 Atlantic sounds is the name of the record store i go to has all kinds of metal and classic rock its just hard to find megadeth on vinyl but if you want the cds they got every album by alot of metal and rock bands
@TheRimeOfIcarus - Finally someone who talks some sense and reason about analog and digital audio. Man, there are so many myths of how vinyl is hands down absolutely the better format, it makes me sick. I love both the good qualities of analog and the good qualities of digital, but hey - everything has its flaws. If there was a perfect audio format there would not have been any arguments about audio formats today.
Thank you for uploading this. I am going to get the original CD. I found it at a chop for a reasonable price. I hear that Dave is going to re-issue the old Megadeth albums again. In other words no remastering or remixing. Like the CD's released in 2004. Most of them were a let down. The demos were nice.
@PearlJammer07 I personally think the Remaster of RUST was great. it sounded alot stronger and felt more modern and its the only album that had great demos! Take no prisoners sounds better demo
I did not know there was that much loss in quality wow. Vinyl does have a bettter sampling rate. Anyone that tells you different is crazy. The CD format is good for two things. Portability and cheaper.
Sampling rate is indeed very important. But what really matters is the source tapes. Good master tapes will sound great on both CD and vinyl as long as their respective specific masters for each format are properly processed.
Through a good sound system, sound quality sounds great. But vinyl has the advantages of the natural distortion that make the drum tracks sound warmer and richer.
The only problem with this natural distortion is that it will also naturally deteriorate over time.
Vinyl records have a nice warm analog sound. The vinyl record and proper mastering techniques will make an album sound amazing guitars, drums, and vocals. You are saying that a vinyl records will deteriorate over time even if it is not played? I store my records side by side, not on top of each other. This will cause ring wear.
Due to heat and improper storing conditions(temperature wise), they can deteriorate over time, but it takes quite a while. When a vinyl record is played on a turntable, it is essentially being damaged everytime, but in very small amounts. That's why the needle and occasionally the record has to be replaced.
@TheRimeOfIcarus cds doesnt sound that good man, there are harmonic information that is lost in the way to digital... you just cant duplicate nature in a code of ceros and ones.
Cds are just easy to make and to carry, but vinyls are the real deal... and that natural distortion you said about, yes, in digital u cant, what youll get if an ugly NOISE if you go of the leds a little.
So, even that digital is cheaper, analogue is THE TRUTH OF AUDIO.
You cannot make an assumption that harmonics actually benefit to the sound. Most of the harmonics that we want are present in both analog and digital. The harmonics that we do not want cannot be easily removed and are present in anlog audio. They aren't as noticable, but when wow and flutter is present, it can be bothersome.
In the Engineering, science, and technical world, digital audio is superior. It's just that the audiophile world contains too many vinyl myths.
@TheRimeOfIcarus DIGITAL AUDIO IS SUPERIOR??? hahaha! vinyl myths??? you forgoth this is about pleasing the listener... is not an cience experiment, IS ART.f you
If you think for a second about the energy transformation process involve in analogue youll get to the conclution that what you listen on tape or vinyl is THAT SAME ENERGY of the player intrument or voice right at home thru your speakers, the very same energy transformed, transduced.... no a DIGITAL CLONE OR COPY made of 0s and 1s..
@TheRimeOfIcarus not really, i just have a degree on audio arts, 20 as a musician, n 15 years of recording and producing.... you were raised if the cd, that why you think that...
If you had any actual knowledge of both analog and digital audio, you'd know that in terms of quality(faithfulness to the original signal, and clarity) that a high digital sample rate is closer than a naturally distorted signal that is produced from a vinyl record. Of course, the ultimate sound would come from the original mastertapes, but guess what, high fidelity tape decks are hard to come by for the average listener and even audio enthusiast.
Comparing analog and digital formats is like comparing apples and oranges. With digital, you get good quality from the format's ability to contain a higher dynamic range, and not suffer from irregularities commonly present in analog formats. However, with analog audio, you get a warm characteristic present from the natural distortion which audiophiles love so much.
I recommend that you do some research before making false claims and posting in a disrespectful tone.
@TheRimeOfIcarus man, suffer from the irregularities??? the irregularities is what actually make it sound better... cause is NATURE. If you think that digital actually sound better, beside all the tachnical crap you can tell, man you are DEF.
Better is subjective. If you think warmth is "better" than accuracy, then that's fine. I love both vinyl and digital, but if you are comparing the two based on actual technical performance, digital audio outperforms non-first generation(not the master tapes, but vinyl, cassette tapes, etc.) analog formats.
I have backgrounds in both audio production and electronic engineering, so if I was deaf, I wouldn't have the proper experience to tell you this today.
Also I can easily explain the "irregularities." In nature, shit happens. Uncontrollable distortion and error. That's typical analog "nature." When we are working with high frequency signals, these problems because more apparent. General audio frequencies can sit anywhere from 20-22kHz. If you monitor a simple sine wave on an oscilliscope in the higher frequencies, the distortion becomes very apparent. The same thing happens to audio stored on vinyl. Hense, the warm sound.
Vinyl has a better sampling rate than CD. That is why most albums sound better on record. I noticed this a few years ago after getting into the format.
i have this on vinyl and the vinyl shits on the cds quality by far

It's because he's playing it via youtube.
Vinyl to digital, digital audio to digital video, then digital video compressed for youtube flash.
That's 3 losses of quality.
