  • i have a 1G bov on my 2G recurciulated and mines sounds louder then that

  • Upgrade to ECMLink and you wont ever have to touch the POS MAF Translator and you wont have to recirculate. Just run Speed Density. I think there are a total of 4 guys locally thats already converted to SD, including me. Adds an extra thing to tune but its well worth it in the end. I am not using Link tho, I'm on DSMAP.

  • I will go the ECM Link route soon. When I was originally looking at the MAF Translator/Blow Through set up , it was before the new ECM Link came out. Sucks, cause I just got the DSM Link in May of last year. I haven't even tuned much with it, been working on my brakes/suspension.

  • Sell it! You can still get a good price for a DSMLink2 Setup. Just find a stock eprom and have it socketed and sell your DSMLink2 setup and get ECMLink. Its worth it. Its like a fraction weaker than AEM. But AEM is strictly for pro tuners. the new ECMLink has a Newbie and Pro setup. Its awesome. And SD was just released today with Link and a bunch of other new features.

  • I guess I can upgrade for $175, instead of the full $595 again, since I already have DSMLink/socket service. I have been very happy w/ DSMLink so far, and I am looking forward to checking out the new features. The new MAF feature is nice, since I was originally going to pay $200+ for a MAF/Translator setup.

  • OR, you can say screw the MAF, and run a MAP Sensor with the new Speed Density setup just released a day ago.

  • I can't wait to run DSMAP as well, would you say it runs better or worse?

  • Nobody knows.... Cause nobody has done the testing from DSMAP to ECMLink. ECMLink V3 also Speed Density, its just DSMAP is alot cheaper, cause all you pay for is the sensors and Emulator.

  • ecm link is always the best way to go but reciruclating is allways a plus

  • where do u get this ecmlink at bro im debating on a ecu setup for my gst im running a td05h-20g turbo on mine

  • Since talons are designed for their compressor bypass valve and by switching to a blowoff valve you confuse the ecu causing the engine to run rich. Is this how your running yours or is there a way to avoid this?

  • The Talon BOV is made to recirculate the air back into the intake, so venting to the atmosphere throws off the air/fuel ratio. I just compensate when I tune w/ DSM Link. I might add a MAF translator if I run into any problems, but so far I have been ok.

  • you will have problems with DSMLink, getting the AFR right. the ECU compensates with extra fuel from the BOV - when its not connected to your BT intake you run slightly rich, which means a performance lose.

  • So far I have had no problems running rich. Not being too hard on the car right now. Still running low boost (15psi peak) until I upgrade my turbo this winter. Going use a MAF/Blow through, add FMIC...etc. Just moved this summer to a new house w/ a proper garage to get stuff done. Looking to make 400whp by June '09.

  • I'm already running DSMLink, but will go to a MAF/blow through set up so I can eliminate the old air filter and restrictive pipe. I'm going to do that when I upgrade my turbo this winter. So far I have had no running/idle problems with this bov not being recirc. Any suggestions on a good turbo?

  • Since you got a 1g sell that link and go ds-map :). It's speed density on a 1g eprom ecu.

  • It will run like shit if u dont resurculate that 1g bov... itll take away from the sound but be alot better for your car or u get a translator and go to a blow through set up.. it will be ok to do that...
