  • I had to find this video on here. Even though I haven't seen or heard this in (20+) years, and haven't had Tootsie Rolls anytime recently, this song has been stuck in my head the last three days. Not sure what causes weird stuff like that. Usually it's the theme song to Darkwing Duck...

  • At 0:21, why does an exclamation point flash over the girl's head when she bats the ball? (It doesn't turn into a Tootsie Roll).

  • my childhood, good memories

  • Thumbs Up if you HATE tootsie Roll. :D

  • I love the 'Umm...it's from Tootsie Roll'.

  • lol i wish it was longer..

  • I LOVE THIS COMMERCIAL!!! i was a kidd wen i 1st saw this =)

  • thubs up if ur eating a tootsie roll right now

  • I remember this catchy jingle from when I was a child, but was also one of my favorites even to this very day. However, is it weird to want to add this jingle to my iPod Touch or is it just me? Still, you've gotta appreciate the nostalgia in this one. For somebody with an actively open imagination, I couldn't tell you how much I appreciate this commercial. Just sayin'!

  • gosh i remember this when i was a kid i used to love this song

  • VERY good quality for something almost as old as I am. Clear and bright colors, great sound. Lots of memories.

  • I love this commercial, especially the jingle XD

  • I was just randomly humming this commercial and so glad you posted it.

  • This brings back soooo many childhood memories.

  • I remember this commercial...They aired it from the 70's until the 90's.

  • "Umm...It's from Tootsie Roll".

Does anybody else picture somebody with heavy sarcasm in their voice saying that tagline.

  • Oh my lord I still know the words!!!!!

  • Oh man... I remember this!!!

  • It's funny how you can hear your entire childhood in a jingle. Mine is here along with School House Rocks.

  • I hate tootsie roll but I always loved this commercial and jingle, yeah I can't tell you the preamble of the U.S. by memory or Hamlet's "to be or not to be" speech but oh yeah I can sing this jingle by heart. :)

  • They replayed this for a while in the 90s so even I got a chance to see it! XD

  • one person just doesn't get it.

  • I just noticed that there's only 1 girl that's wearing a dress. That's the 70s alright.

  • OLD school commercial

    I so remember this

  • wow, back when i use to go to elementary lol.. i love it.. thumbs up..

  • This is a classic that aired for many years afterward.

  • 1 person never ate a toostie roll

  • Omigosh! I remember this as a kid. Now...I'm 37 and I still know the words to this jingle. Crazy I tell you. :)

  • This will be stuck in my head for eternity, lol. I loved this commercial when I was young

  • This truly awesome commercial was an indelible part of my 80's childhood.

  • Whats scary is one morning I woke up with this song stuck in my head. This happened recently. I had no idea that this commercial was from 1977. I thought that it was the late 80s, since I was born in 1984. I probably remember seeing this at a store called Kids R Us.

  • @thewarriorfan84 You can't help it. I think we all get this and things like the Toys 'R Us song stuck in our heads periodically.

  • Pretty sick when everything you look at bcomes a Tootsie Roll.

  • oh the soothing voice of white children...and 1 black kid i guess

  • <3 it's soooooooooooooo cute!!!

  • 1 person only saw broccoli

  • Classic Commercial best days for kids to grow up in.

  • the person that gave this a dislike has no soul or heart.

  • This commercial has some impact on the kids in the 70s & 80s it's positive, cheerful,& enlightening. After 2 decades of airing on saturday mornings between cartoons the song seem to be stuck in our heads.

  • Ahhhh! So many happy childhood memories brought back to me...thank you for this post!

  • I miss that song! Just showed it to my son and he loved it too. Thanks for uploading.

  • The Tootsie company basically created the two greatest and more unforgettable commercials in tv history: This and the Tootsie Pop "How Many Licks" one.

  • MEMORIES =)

  • "tootsie roll I think I'm in love with you"... Man, that really takes me back. My bestie and I were just talking about this commercial the other day. I'm soooo going to post this on facebook! thanks so much for the video.

  • Another great Tootsie Roll commercial I remember as a child. Didn't realize going to an open house tonight would bring these type of memories!! Lol.

  • @sygo7g...... Yes it doe's get STuck in one's Head LOL ;)

  • Thank you for a great quality commercial classic rewind. This is absolutely my favorite one of all time. Thank you for this tender memory of years past.

  • even though this is from '77, I was born in '86 and this commercial would always come up, and seeing this commercial now, I know the lyrics by heart. Love this! :)

  • @franzchick66 yeah to me this ad is from the late 90s... but it was actually done in the 70s. And when I heard it back in the late 90s, I KNEW the song already! Guess these commercials have more of an impact than these crap-mercials we see today

  • haha I was born in 1985 & I remember this commercial playing when I was 4 years old

  • I wanted to cry when I watched this.

  • This is so awesome!! They should bring this one back!! Thanks so much for posting!!!!

  • Hey i love and all the dentist also...lol

  • tootsie rolls laced with acid?

  • The ending shot of the container of tootsie rolls is different than the other version I saw.

  • This is the best quality version of this commercial I've been able to find online--thank you for posting!!

  • This was brought back from the dead several times during the 90s and I think a little bit early this decade. That's unusual. (The only other example I know of is the "Mr. Owl" Tootsie Pop commercial, which, though now redubbed, is STILL running.)

I was a kid in the 90s and I could tell right away that it was from the 70s. Everything about it---the animation, the soundtrack, the character designs, the backgrounds, those "sparkle" effects---they all tie it very specifically to that period.

  • I agree! It was the ONLY good commercial to air during Saturday Morning cartoons. Last I remember seeing this on TV was 1997.

  • haha. That's what you call addiction.

  • I remember being young. I think.

    My dog makes Tootsie Rolls!

  • I don't remember this when I was young!

  • I remember this from when I was young.

  • i remembered this when i was young.
