Yay for the smell of trees...nothing better..but I hate picking up needles til Easter. Like Beth I love that you all did this as a family (and great camera work Dad) I hope you all have an great holidays. :)
Kris Kringle!! Oh man, you rock. WROTE EVERY ONE WITH A NOTE?! I couldn't do it. Mass notes usually from me. Not even that this year. How much do I suck? Aww, Jonny's hand around Alex's neck. I swear, you all couldn't be a cuter family if you tried. I just love you guys so much! :)
I'm a dork Beth!! Jeeesh louise! I just hit "remove" instead of "reply" and I saw myself do it in slow motion and couldn't stop myself. Nope, I didn't do the 3w's...it just started going backwards on my browser for some reason.
1.) I suck this year...will do cards tomorrow, minimal notes, but something at least
2.) Yup JK & AK are very hands on people. So, when you finally meet them...expect the same arms around your neck ;)
3.) Oh, I needed to hear how cute we were a couple of days ago. Even the cutest families have sucky weeks sometimes. But, life is back to normal. They're decorating the tree, Joe's watching football, and I'm about to go bake Spritz cookies. Yup, life is good.
Well I will try to remind you how cute you all are every week :D
I guess that's the 100 dozen Spritz cookies, right? Hahaha That was hilarious when Jonny said "what about 99?" bwahaha Like making one dozen less would stop Alex from wanting them :D
We give away about 95 dozen of them, so I'm guessing the missing dozen would have been his. (At least that's how Jonny's mind works in my imagination...).
About 3-4 dozen fit in a cookie tin, and I usually make 20-25 tins to give to friends & relatives. I honestly don't think I'm doing that many this year. Maybe a container to keep here at the house & Joe's office, and then some for Christmas eve/day celebrations.
Oh Stacey, for us non-chocolate lovers, divinity is "IT"....light & fluffy, sometimes a little stretchy & chewy...each batch has it's own personality, lol.
vixen was the one you missed, and u got it right for Rudolph's father.. that was funny and i love how alex was all into it..it made my day after a very bad phone call i received.. thanks for cheering me up..
Oh no Tree...bad phone call? Everything OK now? (I hope!)
Alex was SOOOOO into it. (I think part of it is that he's still in suck up mode from being in trouble earlier this week for his 'tude. But after a good talking to, life is good again.)
But.....YAY! You got your response videos! (And Stacey did one too...did ya see??)
I would love to find someone around here who makes homemade eggnog...and not have to buy it in the carton this time of year. Though messy - real trees win - just for the smell alone. LOL Alex is wearing a Yankees hat and Jonny is wearing a Giants hat...very opposite sides of the spectrum lol. HIGH FIVE Alex on the Christmas beliefs!! Totally with you on that!
Hmm, homemade egg nog..have you looked for a recipe? From what I understand, it's petty simple to make. I just don't know if I could deal with the thickness of it. (I drink non-fat milk just for that reason alone.) Yeah, the boys & their hats...Alex said he bought that hat because he thought CC Sabathia was going to be on the Yankees. He said to high 5 ya back! He wants to know if you've called Taylor with his cell # yet..LOL.
Yup, pink divinity...made with hot cinnamon oil (think red hot candys or Hot Tamales candy).
I'm off in search of the oil today while Alex works. He's got his first part time job that ISN'T baseball related. He's the layout guy for a new newspaper and their first edition comes out this week. His yearbook editing experience definitely paid off with this one.
real trees rock! Back in my college days I would go out into the Valley of Silence (the name of the woods on campus) and cut down a pine tree at the bottom of the cliffs and then complained about dragging it back uphill, but it was great once I got it to the dorm, with a thick heavy piney smell!
Cool story John! I miss real trees, but, well you heard all of my reasons.
I was getting something out of my Jeep a couple of days ago, and swear I found pine needles...I haven't had a real tree on or around it in 3 or 4 years. WHERE do they magically appear from when you least expect it? I tell ya...roaches & pine needles will be the last 2 things existing on this earth. ;)
LOL Sue, I asked him what that meant last night. He said "I have no idea! Words just flow out sometimes and I have no control over them."
Oh, I'll PM you about the fork story. It's not that exciting. I just didn't want a relative to see it and know that I don't miss this person. (Most of them don't know the fork story, so they wouldn't have a clue.)
And ty re: white. It adds about 30 lbs., but, that's my favorite thick & cozy sweatshirt, and I don't care, lol. What's 30 lbs. between friends?
Much Love ...Travis

"Roaches & pine needles" LOL! I suspect it may have been the Ghost of Christmas Past, leaving you clues and reminders of a real tree ;)
