if I were to really explore the way I feel about NGE, the thing I dislike is that some info contradicts itself throughout the story's progression, and too many of questions go unanswered and basically the viewer is left to decide the answer. I guess I'm not used to that, and I don't feel comfortable with that much flexibility in a show's story.

A couple of points. I can't wait to see this beautiful looking rendition of Eva. Anno has my eternal gratitude. Also keep in mind that Anno is much happier now, in that he is out of his depression AND he is married. This is gonna be one hell of a ride. All of the Angels look great. Correction; there's nothing wrong about the messages the ending tries to give of. However, Evangelion is a mecha series that had a defined setting; the ending of the series really didn't flow well with the rest of the series. You could watch the last two episodes without ever watching the first 24 and still get the same impact, you could even replace the characters. If Eva had used the addressed philosophy in the last eps to evolve the characters, it would have been brilliant.
