me in time was a single not a b-side although it wasnt on an album, bit like the only one i know that wasnt on the original vinyl some freindly but featured on the cd album
I started checking out this band because I love Blackened Blue Eyes at the end of the movie Jumper. But so far I haven't found any other song of theirs that really lights me up. Too many of their songs, like this one, sound...how should one describe it?.....mushy. There's nothing hard or distinct enough for the ear to hold on to. It's like musical mashed potatoes. Blackened Blue Eyes though does not suffer the same problem.
Really, i respect your comments, but i don't agree. I thought Between 10 & Up to our Hips, had some great moments on them. I also think The next 2 albums were very good. But i suppose it's all about opinions.
Such a great single, can't remember where I read that the band didn't like it and was always mystified as to why! Then they go and follow this with my favorite album ever made, Between 10th and 11th.
One of the best ever Charlatans songs ever!!! Does anyone know where I can get it? I've looked everywhere and only have it on the Just Lookin DVD. I need this.....its in my f#$%ing head all of the time!!!
This was a Charlatans classic but they never play it at their gigs & it was'nt featured on their singles album. Did they not like it or was there problems with the record lable? I rated it highly, but White Shirt is still No 1.
Seem to remember it was between albums, they were not popular with the music press and the public. It was Madchester backlash. Their next to albums were very good but not commercially successful. i think it was the support of their fans and maybe some arrogance kept them going. The 1995 self titled album was massive, sadly they lost the prgan player Rob Collins and haven't been as good since. Tho live very good i still feel.
Awesome stuff

Very good, not on their Melting Pot Album for some reason.
simoncm46 2 years ago
Maybe because Melting Pot is a meaningless compilation put together by an american record executive?
ady10001 2 years ago
I agree, i've not bought Melting Pot, but am i right in thinking Indian Rope is not on there too.
jaseywasey49 2 years ago
indian rope was on the "dead dead good records" label and melting pot is the beggers banquet label best of. but i dont know why this one isnt on

Martin the bassist hated it - not funky enough for him I guess. I LOVE this - top tune and great guitar work.
