  • All you elitists out there who can't stand seeing a bass played with a pick...watch ANY pink floyd video. Roger Waters always played with a pick. To attempt an accurate cover of pink floyd, you should play with a pick.

  • awesome cover... you're really good.

  • Why do bass players argue so much about style? I never seen Roger Waters play without a pick .. yeah he did I know on DSOTM but for real? I thought guitar players were nit picky

  • @macinfloydvolk I don't know why people argue that much....matter of fact, I saw roger's Wall show 2 weeks ago and he played some songs with his fingers and some with a pick, and he definitely played this with a pick

  • @macinfloydvolk also, on the studio records it's mostly David Gilmour playing bass

  • @MrBlackGlaze wuuuut for real? i didnt know that

  • Good job man, sounds good!

  • like!

  • great bassline! do you have the tabs???

  • Use your fingers instead of the pick, you will obtain a better " groove ", all in all nice cover :)

  • @Kadet92 that might be true, however, the original is played with a pick, too. And thank you ;)

  • @MrBlackGlaze this is a great groovy bass song. keep up with good work. thanks for sharing. I'm going to learn this one next.

  • @Kadet92 he actually has better groove than alot of other videos on youtube.. covering this bass..

and as he says the original is played by pick too.. for some reason i can play bass better with pick too, i dont even know how to use my fingers.. its kinda sad.

  • @Kadet92 A good bassist learns both styles, not just the one YOU prefer.

  • @Kadet92 while i do agree that it changes the tone using a pick, but if you turn the tone down some and the treble down some on the amp you can still get a good groove

  • perfect! :-)

  • @Mattimarza I really appreciate your kind advice....dipshit

  • why post this shit on youtube?

  • @Mattimarza Why don't you go fuck yourself...nobody forces you to watch it

  • @Mattimarza upload a video of you playing it better, idiot.

    La concha de tu madre

  • hey that's a good cover! with being a guitarist an all, haha..i have the same cover

with a little diferences, i'll leave it here if you want to check it out!! gook luck!

    Adriana

  • @mjunhy7 thanks and yours rocks too!

  • This might sound odd, but I think this song would have sounded even better with slap bass. The song just has the right feel for slap bass.

  • Dude, it's not 1978. It's 1979. LOL. Change the info.

  • @DanW900 oh my god i'm so terribly sorry, excuse my typo. There I fixed it

  • You're a guitarist playing a bass, right? I can tell a mile away.

  • @whizwerx actually I'm a guitar and bass player playing a bass with a pick, so it might look like it :D But i play guitar more often than bass, you got that right ;)

  • @whizwerx no you can't, bass is usually played with a pick too...

  • @lpavletinet whizwerx is right haha I am a guitarist playing bass every once in a while ;) Although this particular song is definitely played with a pick!

  • bass guitar with you ... I find other musicians to video (drums, keyboards, vocals) and video on video we complete the piece without a base of pink under ... we only use metronome ...ok???

  • @stuombi you mean like a virtual pink floyd? That would kick ass!

  • very good my friend it would be pretty cool if you post a video lesson of this song

  • @Rbtrace0ur I broke my index finger so I can't post shit right now :( But if I ever find the time later I might post a lesson

  • Don't kill this guy because he isn't using a vintage P-Bass. Even if he had the P-Bass he would still need to use hiwatt heads, and WEM cabs... if you can find some vintage Waters gear more power to you.

  • to hell with everyone sayin you not using the right bass or strings that was a damn good cover of the song nice job man

  • very nice cover, I suggest that you'll use more slappy-jazz kind of sound, though it won't be like the original but it will be nice to try it.

    keep up the good work!

  • @michaelglencer Thanks for the suggestion, but my amp won't give me that kind of sharp sound. It would sound pretty cool though!

  • if you wanna sound like Roger you must use precision bass first of all :)

  • @pbirdbass well I'll be damned....I don't have one ;)

  • @MrBlackGlaze Haha that guy acts like you can just go GET one like its no big deal.

  • @RayManzarekGod Yeah I'm just gonna ask Roger if he could sell all his gear to me....do you have his number? :D

  • @MrBlackGlaze Hahahah :P, in my opinion this guitar is perfect, its not about the gear you have, but the hands playing the gear! Great cover!

  • 1) FENDER (!!!!) PRECISION (!!!!!!!) Bass

    2) Rotosound JazzBass 77 strings

During The Wall Tour 1980-1981, Waters used an effect called BassBalls (by Electro-Harmonix) on Young Lust (and a couple of other tracks, like Empty Spaces). You can try playing with that.

  • i m watching all your bass covers...awesome!!!!!!!

  • thts was fuckin sick man nicely done

  • If you want the sound that Roger got you can use rotosound flatwounds which may sound more bassy. I liked your cover better than anyone else. Great timing and you're actually using a pick.

  • thank you! an it actually sounds pretty close to the original in reality, it's just that my camera can't transfer the actual sound very well

  • Dude, mad props! You rocked it bro!

  • awesome!! pink floyd kick ass

  • hell yeah they do!

  • Good job, good song choice too!

  • thank you
