verandah poche is an amazing poet. the first time i heard this she sang it live at a a poetry reading and had the whole audience sing the refrain with her. it was awsome
This a stunning collage of images. I felt a slight disconnect between folk sound & the devastating impact of images -- may be why I had trouble hearing the words. I don't think it's a problem though. On the contrary, the music kept calling me back to the center, where compassion and moral commitment come from. You know, entheos. I wish someone would run your video on prime time tv. Try sending it to Oprah.
Musically this is a beautifully composed / put together piece.
The lyrics and images are moving and give everyone pause for thought. The irony of the smoothness of the music with the tragic subject matter makes it all the more intriguing. Kudos all round!
