  • Your all wrong thats 100%.... man-bear-pig......jeeeeeeez!

  • Great video!

  • thats not a mountain lion

  • It's Big Foot.

  • House cat.

  • thats a house cat you retard

  • I live in Elkader in Clayton county, I know a guy who got some pics on his trail camera a couple weeks ago of a mountain lion, 15 years ago I was hunting and saw track just outside the city limits of one, me and the friend I was wil got the heck outta there before we saw the cat.

  • that is no mountain lion. That is an actual *African* lion, king of the jungle.

  • Felis catus, not Puma concolor. A cougar, as many have noted is about 6 to 8 feet nose to tail tip. Those trees are not even three feet at the base, and the cat gets close enough to compare. Not Lynx rufus (Bobcat) as its tail is too long compared to the body. But gosh, the comments are a lot of fun.

  • its a bobcat you dumb ass!!!!!!

  • there was on e around my school whitch i dont understand

  • bobcat?

  • Really?! How could you think that is a mountain lion? HAH! Incredibly ridiculous! I sure would be embarrassed if I had posted a video of a house cat on the internet claiming that it was a mountain lion. Yes, there are mountain lions that pass through Iowa, and no, that was not one of them.

  • LOL its a house cat! It looks nothing like a mountain lion and is not even close to the size of a mountain lion! Hahaha

  • Definatly a cat.Sorry. When stuff like this happens, why dont people get down there(after it has left) and check out paw prints. It is easy to do.

  • We just spotted one on Saturday afternoon on the east side of Council Bluffs....it ran across the street right in front of us.

  • 10 pounds.

  • domestic cat

  • @r3v3rs3tWiLiT3 how in the world do you think that thats a domestic cat? does it look 10lbs to you? or does it look more like 100lbs.

  • i think its a male...

  • Great footage. That's 100% a mountain lion.

  • The size of the trees matters because the cat was walking/sitting next to them. The relative size allows you to gauge the size of the cat. It's a common optical illusion. We have cougars here, tho I've only seen a bobcat. However I've seen a cat a few hundred feet away looking really huge - because it was outlined against snow. When I went later to look at the tracks, they were those of a large house cat.

  • Cool video. There was one spotted last weekend in the fields in Lisbon. Also reports of missing sheep. Super.

  • big house cat. Were that a mountain lion, those trees in the ravine would have to be 1/4 to 1/5 mile away, and 2-3 feet in diameter. However, the trees are only 6-8" in diameter. house cat.

  • @prairie76 That's ridiculous. Why would the size of the trees matter at all? We have "mountain lions" or "cougars" or "pumas" in this area. And this is likely out by the res, so it's completely likely.

  • It will eat your kid! Thank's DNR!

  • Love that's a house cat...

  • That looks like a mountain lion to me. I've seen them in Montana. They have killed 3 in Iowa in the last few years....check out the TV news reports on You Tube. Cool post.

  • shut the brat up! housecat

  • LoL if you think this is a mountain lion or a bobcat your a complete idiot. First of all please show me a legitimate picture of a black bobcat. Its not even that big of a house cat. The funny thing is thinking about how scared this lady must have been of a house cat. And wtf is with all the video of the trees?

  • @Merc516 It wasn't black. It was too far away to tell color. and it's not a bobcat, bob cats are much smaller. THey probably live out by the coralville res. If you don't know our area than perhaps you should shut your trap.

  • And your all pretty dumb not to believe its a mountain lion the dnr did let some loose to kill off the deer population and i have proof in pictures of mountain lions killed in iowa so maybe you should do some reading and go outdoors a little more!

  • This is a big non-house cat. You can see how far away it was at the beginning of the video. Also, you can see the long tail and lighter coloring on its chest when it stops and looks around.

  • @Twcp30 I don't think so, its head movement was different...

  • This might be the dumbest video, taken by the dumbest lady on YouTube....If you think thats a mountain lion, your an ass.

  • Wow people. this is get'n out of control. i undrstand not everyone gets out to the outdoors as much as some others but seriously.. this is why the dnr take the cat sightings so litely

  • That is Sylvester the Kitty Kat.... Geezzzzzz

  • Go make your kids some lunch. A house cat is pretty common in Ia City.

  • Maybe a bobcat????

  • If anyone else wants to see the house cat, it appears at 2:20.

  • That is definitely not a mountain Lion, house cat for sure

  • Having lived out west & seen big cats, this is no mountian lion..It's a very large house cat..The body posture is all wrong for a big cat...

  • @mrtandog612 I agree! The head movement was to fast when it sat down. Hey can I go with you sometime!? There's nothing I want more then to see a a large cat in the wild. <3

  • Good Catch, Tahish Alhawban...LoooL...I guess we are not going to BBQ in your back yard any more.... LooooL....

  • Its a house cat. Definately not a Big Cat.

  • Thats awesome Be careful though they r dangerous they can kill someone in a heartbeat

  • More likely a bobcat?

  • What side of town is this on?

  • That looks like a house cat. Mountain lions have a longer tail and are lighter in color. They have a different walk too. I'm not trying to be negative lol I really was hoping this was real because that would be neat! Really, that's just a cat.

  • The audio is hilariious!
