At the point of typing it is proving to be frustrating getting Youtube to load quicker off Optus 3G. I usually have 3-4 bars (periodically 5) in my room. I have no idea if it is interference causing this cos I would think good coverage meant good 3G reception?? :)
It depends where you are, network congestion, a tonne of different factors. It's fine to do a test but you gotta keep in mind that this kind is not gonna be accurate.
Also 3 only cover metro areas, whereas Optus cover regional as well. So you can't really call Optus "disappointing" because you don't know exactly how far you are from the nearest tower, how many other users are in your area etc...

I'm bailing from Optus. It is by far the shittest network. 3 works from the Telstra towers so it has better 3G network.
