I know Casey. We live in the same town and went to the same school and the day this happened he was drunk and he decided to swim out into the lake to a buoy about 100 feet from shore. When he got to the buoy there was gator was sleeping on it and he disturbed it and it attacked him. What the news did not tell you is that they killed 6 other gators before they found his arm and that him and his friends were drunk. He was being stupid and this is what happened as a result. That is the true story.

There are only 2 reasons why an alligator will attack... 1.) It has been FED BY PEOPLE, and lost it's NATURAL fear of humans and thus aassociated him as a food source. or 2.) It was a female guarding her nest.
