@21dobbie The game engine is available at rfactor - net. Cars and tracks are at rfactorcentral - com. These cars are "Street Stock Shootout" but there's a much better version that I made recently than these, so look for V3. I can send you links to them. You need to be reasonably proficient with understanding directory structures in order to install things into the game engine.
@25sportskid The good track builders use 3DSMax. A lot of people get started using Bob's Track Builder. Either way, you'll need to do a lot of study on how materials are set up, how to set up the physics of surfaces (grip, abrasion, bumpiness, how much dust or smoke is produced, etc.), how to create cameras, etc.
@25sportskid a good way to get your foot in the door is pick a track you like that needs some work, and just start fooling around with it(but get the original maker's permission if you decide to release it)
It's rFactor, though the track is a dirt version that I made for our league (now disbanded). There's an updated version of the cars that I made for the league too. But since the league disbanded, I haven't had the motivation to put the finishing touches on it and release it to the public.
Well, the cars are available there (though there's a massive update that I began but stopped just before polishing off, which gives them proper horsepower (actually three engine choices), a couple different tire compounds, new damage model, new driver model, an external steering wheel that turns, more graphic improvements and considerable physics and aerodynamic improvements). You can get the paved Kenton F8 track there, but the dirt add-on for it is something available only through me.
With so many people on a little bitty track, it was certainly wild. At least now we have the Buffalo Back Park figure-8 track to use... though we haven't yet except for a paved version I made with a different mod. I'm working on revamping the Street Stock Shootout mod in hopes of generating interest in us racing them again. But so far there has been little interest in my efforts. Alas.
It has damage. These cars don't crush as much visually as others (has to do with the damage.ini file for the cars), but you can see some denting in places. But they are about as robust as actual Figure 8 cars that race out here, which can survive high-speed T-bones frequently. At this itty bitty track, there was no speed to be had for much damage to be done. The race server also had, I think, 75% damage instead of our usual 100%.
I made the dirt version of Kenton myself. I have sent the files to the guy who made the track, and he said he wants to add lights before releasing it as a Version 2, but it's been months now...
can someone give me the website so i can download this game of modifieds, late modles, stock cars and everything els and all the tracks

Would be good if it had damage, I think that these days if a racing game doesnt have full realistic damage and physics it isnt worth playing.
