  • ur awesome !! good insite

  • I love the way the photos look with this product. I cant wait to order mine.

    Just ordered an Ezybox :D

  • Was so excited to get my 6x7 Lastolite background. Put a light on the side shining inside and found yellow streaks all over the front and sides.

Am disappointed that they sent a product out like that... so check yours if you get one...

  • We wouldn't knowingly send a product out like this. All of our HiLites are checked before they leave our factory. Something may have happened to it during transit.

It's important that you have a product that you are happy with so i would suggest that you return it to the dealer you bought it from and ask them for an exchange.

Where did you buy it from?

  • Great product, but shame they couldn't stretch the video budget to getting decent models!

  • Are you joking...

That model is hot hot hot. Elegant movements. Gave me a boner and no mistake. Where did they get HIM from.

  • Also what is that silly white streak at the back of her hair?!

  • When only the modelling light is on it does look that way but when the flash fires it is evenly lit.

  • I have to say that on the video the lighting on the hi lite does not look at all even. It shows a very bright area where the light is and the rest quite a bit darker

  • The HiLite system is most effective with a minimum of two lights. One light points inside the HiLite to ensure you get an evenly lit, bright high key background. This also allows the subject to stand right in front of the background without casting a shadow. The second light should be used to light the subject from the front.

  • Is it totally necessary to have the light facing the subjects, or can it just be used with the back light that comes with the Lastolite HiLite? I'm shooting with an Olympus E510, and whilst I can afford to get the background kit, I think another light, stand, etc would be out of my budget.

  • I agree with FedrikSvensson...

I will buy the cheap flash and put it inside the hiliter. I will use my AB800 light for the main and my flash as a fill. I am so disappointed how i am receiving so many drop-off black edges (uneven) background and dark faces with this hiliter... Total disappointed!

However, I love the video and everything else.

  • The HiLite used in this video was the 6 x 7 feet version.

  • Can anybody say what is the size of folded hilite background? Is it 8 x 7 feet (2.5m x 2.15m) - 8878 model, or 6 x 7 feet (1.8m x 2.15m) - 8867? Thank you.

  • We are aware that a number of photographers are lighting the HiLite with SB800 and SB900. However, it is our understanding that they are using more than one flashgun depending on whether they are shooting head and shoulders or full length.

    Hope this helps.

  • thanks got it. sorry i left this question on an other page. just ignor it cheers

  • This looks great - can you (or anyone) advise whether a nikon SB800 or 600 would be powerfull enough to use to light the background ?

  • It's a good question and I was thinking the same thing. However, if you are just going to use the flash to light the background there is no need to spend money on an expensive flash like the SB800 or 900. Just get something cheap like a Sigma or so. I got a new Sigma 500DG Super that I used for a job today to blow out the background. Cost me like 100 Euros and even works with off camera ittl if I need it to. It's not as precise as the Nikon flashes but has more power which helps for backgrounds.
