Maybe. The people in Iraq did the same thing. They would have video camera on the noses of cruise missile. A group of them tried to show me the results of the women and children being targeted in air raid shelters. I walked out in disgust. I was told that they showed the terror on the faces just before the end. The English there whooped and hollered in sheer joy. They are a sick people.

MSM. As I suggested, you are right in saying I didn't see the actual film. I didn't want to.The missiles were deployed against civilians, in an attempt to destroy the families of high up Iraqi officials. This was well documented at the time. I was also told that the faces of the targets could be seen, and had no reason to disbelieve it.

I agree there are some sick individuals around, and certainly there are plenty of them in my country. These people are usually big-mouths who have no comprehension of the seriousness of the situation, or the real nature of warfare.
Please do not forget that there is huge opposition to the Iraq-Afghanistan war in my country, evidenced by the huge anti-war demonstrations in London before it all kicked off.

In every case, it was the over-confident big-mouths who got all of them killed.

If I or anyone else mentioned the English bombing of Dresden in regards to the American firebombing of Japanese cities, English people would rightly object to that. Just because other countries do bad things elsewhere, doesn't justify the English attrocities like Dresden.

On American propaganda, I am very well aware of that. In fact. I would say that they were better at it than the English.
Of course I feel sympathy for the Japanese and consider the unnecessary bombing of Japanese cities especially Tokyo as prima facie war crimes.
England must take responsibility for its own war crimes, though.

@jrwel14 The reason is that history puts everything into perspective. As time goes on, the realities come out more and more as the propaganda fades. In the 20th Century, the war was shown as being between the noble British (meaning the English) and the horrible Germans. In much the same way, the French were shown as dreadful and the English heroic in the 19th Century. We all know now that it was all English propaganda.

He said that his granfather saw the tragedy of what happened to his cities, But, also to what happened to the allies. That grandad was exceptional. haven't seen much of that on the German side.

I agree that England is a fun place to. But when you touch something like 'imperial identity' in them a kind of metamorphosis strikes, and normal jolly-looking Englishmen turn to monsters. And whatever they say about Germany, which along with the Netherlands is closest them ethnically, they always say something spiteful or condescendent.

Actually I am kind of Anglophile, but this ww2 issue is odd. We can agree that the Nazis were monsters, and be happy that such an political system doesn't exist. However, when we scrutiny the historical backgrounds and events, we notice that we cannot deem any nation as such (the English, the Germans, & c) culpable, but we find atrocities of which all parties are responsible.
