  • The drum not sounded right!

  • 2:50 I live for that.

  • Comment removed

  • awesome!

  • GREAT SOUND!!!!!!! The marching band that I used to be in did this song the same year lol. The band did the Big Band 40's in 1995-96 school year. (I Still need to get that video on here). Please subscribe to my channel. It will be up in a few weeks! thanks for posting this video! :-)

  • Glenn Miller was spinning in his grave as Chicago played this. That bass player was so lost during this piece that I hope he somehow made it back to civilization in time for dinner. The brass section got it right, but the rhythm section just plain blew it.

  • Love this version. What a fantastic, versatile band. Really enjoy the album too. Love their cover of 'Chicago'. 5 idiots obviously need wrist supports.

  • go billl go!!!

  • спасибо огромное! Наверное главное преимущество инет, что можно найти то, что долгие годы было либо недоступно либо трудно найти (кто жил в СССР поймет)!! очень люблю эту группу!!! Еще раз, спасибо!!!

  • amazing...2 thumbs up...love their version....<3

  • Glorioso¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • grandi unici/gino

  • is this the anabolic orchestra?

  • The comments regarding which version is better are pointless. It's like apples and oranges... both versions are good, and one isn't better than the other. They're simply different, and both are good in their own way.

And for those who would diss the original version, your lack of respect for the big band pioneers of the 40's shows your total lack of any real musical knowledge. Most professional musicians respect what came before them, and many times they've used it as inspiration.

  • Gee, the original is horrible, this one is horrible; How about you two have absolutely no musical taste, ear or knowledge? How about that?

  • blame it on champlin.

  • Tomatoes are utterly useless as aardvarks.

  • i agree with smokiemac. one the arrangement is terrible this does no justice to the original.

  • i dont know what the hell you and smokie are talking about. in my opinion the original sounds horrible in comparison to this. except for the solos.

  • what do you mean by sounds? the recording? cause the original was in the 40's so the recording was not great.

  • why

  • Oh come on guys! This is a terrible performance of a poor arrangement of a great song. Chicago did some great stuff, both on in the studio and live but this isn't up to snuff. The bass and trombone are absolutely dreadful throughout. Sax and trumpet had some good moments but overall high-school band quality.

  • well it really is a sax and trumpet song. so that would kinda make sense that they have their moments. on top of sax/trumpets is kinda what jazz is mainly about

  • Agreed.

  • are you on acid?!

  • schenzen und classiqje In the Mood, butenkind Robert Lamm

  • I grew up listening to these guys.. i will grow old listening to these guys!! Chicago... you rock on forever....

  • What's frustrating is that that album was the worst selling album (with the exception of the current one just released after 15 years of hibernation)

  • yet the Rock & Roll HOF continues to shun them...

  • The R & R HOF is for pop stars. These guys are musicians.

  • you know, maybe because this is jazz.

    not rock and roll.

  • This is awesome. Chicago is great/ Thanks for posting.

  • Chicago is the BEST!!!

  • I've seen Chicago in Zürich on July, 25th 2008 and also with this song "in the mood" - just fantastic - go ahead Chicago

  • This is from what is officially the 22nd album. My fave track from that album, btw...

  • Well, the original members anyway.

  • This is what was on the radio when these guys were kids.

  • I love the original version of this but i think this arrangement is really cool i love it lots great job Chicago!

  • Yes !!

The "Night an Day" album sparks to life my

original crush on this amazing band !

    ;-)

    Thanks for posting this vid.!

If only it hadn't been cut so abruptly at the

    end :-(

I'd preferred some five seconds lingering in

the groove, enjoying the crowds jubilation. - Hopefully in next posting ?

  • This whole CD is great.Listening to Danny Ser aphine got me playing drums in 1971. Now I am 48. My dad is 88. He is one of the few remaining Battle of Britain pilots (May-Sept 1940). He loves it when I play the Night and Day CD for him. "Brings back a lot of bloody good memories he says" . I think it helps block out the bad ones too.

  • The jazz band I'm in in college is doing this in our winter concert.

  • This happened to be in my opinion from one of their better "new formation" tours. Saw Show in NY this tour- when they were promoting the Night and Day album- Great mix of songs- Band was tight- Played longer than they had in years- I personally thought, although there was no new material, the Album rejuvenated them on this tour.

  • @IGRX I saw them on the same tour and completely agree!
