  • おなかがすいちゃって。

I just got hungry all of a sudden... :-P

  • This seems similar to fondue. You allow the hot broth to cook various meats. Kinda cool. I prefer more expensive/higher quality foods even if I can only have them occasionally. Cheap food usually taste good but isn't good for you (at least here in the States). Don't get me wrong...I love some Taco Bell...but it's really unhealthy. I'm always reminded of this when I've finished digesting it... "Oh yeah, that's why I don't eat Taco Bell very often."

  • Awesome! Although, slightly disappointed it didn't stand for Mortal Kombat restaurant.

  • how long did it take you to learn japanese?

  • Life is about ignoring ignorant comments & people. As Bruce Lee once said "why should I take notice of what my enemies have to say about me"?

  • Thank you for all your videos! It's such a shame your videos attract a lot of negative comments from so really negative people. I think what you're doing is great, showing us what your life is like in Japan. Keep up the good work!

  • 東村山市のMKレストランは潰れてしまいました。残念。

  • You have a pretty good life :( unlike me...

  • the end was epic :D

  • I donno what it was in Sep, but now 1000 yen is closer to $13.

  • @Antiks72 YEAH! TOTALLY! And shame on them asians who live in Canada and speak English well! SHAME ON EVERYONE. Growww up, kiddo.

  • @Antiks72 Im sure hitler would say the same thing...lol

  • @Antiks72 Pretty sad seeing that there are people who still think like you do...

  • What's the general price you end up spending eating out in Japan? Not Mcdonalds and western food but regular Japanese food.

    Do you get much food?

  • sticky rice :)

  • I keep watching these videos when I'm hungry...not really helping me out by showing some DELICIOUS japanese cuisine :)

  • 0:32 fuck you lol hahaha

  • I wonder if Ryuhei still thinks that YouTube membership costs money Oo

  • so its kinda like steamboat.

  • click 8 to see a demon From Heaven :p

  • There's really good one in Little Tokyo in downtown L.A, but I don't see any here in Japan Town in San Francisco; strange?!

  • 変わったしゃぶしゃぶですね。

  • Olá galofritenses!

  • I just found a shabu shabu place near me! Now I just need to find someone who will go with me!

  • also, the shabu shabu near me is $30 a person....oh what I pay to get Japanese food in Pittsburgh

  • ya ya my 1 shabu shabu was with 9 ^^

  • what's the actual name of this song? ^^

  • "they say like shabu shabu and then they eat, but this is raw.... soo..."

    haha thought that was hilarious.

  • did he mix in soy sauce into the fucking egg? WTF?? :O

  • it looks thai suki. shabushabu is a bit different from that.

  • Where is this in Fukuoka?? i lived on MK in Thailand, but haven't seen it yet in Fukuoka and i've been here 9 months!

  • MK is original from Thailand. It can be called Thai-Suki. Also, there is another one in Shinjuku.

  • It's kind of creepy how often I have seen you eating or drinking. And you don't even know me ^_^ Cool vid tho! I've never been to shabu shabu, but now it's on my todo list.

And thanks for reminding me of raw egg on rice. Ooishii! Cheap, fast and nutritious.

I like both cheap food and expensive food. Sometimes one, sometimes the other depending on my mood.

  • lol! raw egg with rice, I've seen that a lot in japanese videos and I wonder...how does it taste???

  • ¥1000 for that?! I wanna go to that place now. :O

  • Your music keeps getting better and better!! Makes me happy :D

  • Holy crap, so I'm coming to Fukuoka. XD

  • I prefer cheap food :D

  • but theres no mortal kombat there only food :(

  • This video made me hungry... :L

  • I prefer food to be cheaper, but I'll pay a little extra if it's delicious!

  • what camera do you use? :/

  • これバンコクにもありますよ!

  • they have it here in CA it's really good! oh and i've seen one in taiwan too when i went on vacation this summer :)

  • That looks awesome! Definitely gonna look for shabushabu if I ever make it to Japan. I should say WHEN.

  • I finally found you again!

It's been a while since I last watched one of your videos, as I 'misplaced' 'you' and forgot your channel name. :P

    But hoorah! <3

  • Great video. That restaurant was awesome. Another thing I will need check out whenever I get to japan.

  • This was awesome :] hey, what kind of camera do you use? It's really good quality!

  • im guessing you have pink nipples?

  • Cheap is good, because it's... cheap.

  • i wana f*ck you Ciaela.

  • fml, look at her.

  • Quality of food is very important to me! I will always pay a little more if it means, whole, natural ingredients that are not ridden with fillers and preservatives..you get what you pay for (for the most part!)!

  • thank you so much, it means alot to us who haven't been able to get over there.

    so thank you

    Liked + subbed

  • can i ask where you started off learning japanese?sorry to be annoying, its just im really interested in learning and your videos have inspired me haha. :)

  • I'd like to tell friends living on the earth. It's about lies of Korean culture. kendo(kumdo) aikido(Hapkido) iaido(Guhapdo) judo(yudo) manga(Manhwa) If Korean told you that these are Korean culture,it is lie. These are Japanese culture. Many people knows Korea always steal other country's culture. But I think this is related also to your country. So please look out! And please help us!
  • you two are like THE most adorable couple ever XD love it

  • Looks delicious guys! I'll pass on the raw egg.

  • we have MK in Thailand :D

  • Damn, now I'm hungry, lol. Nice video.

  • @utubesqueeze lol me to :P

  • Do many restaurants have the ability to order from the table? That is awesome.

    Richard

  • Great video!!!! Keep making these shots from life in japan. I used to live there while in the military and miss the food and people. I enjoyed you having him keep saying "Shabu Shabu!" thanks for posting

    Richard

  • 近くのMKにたまに家族でしゃ~ぶしゃ~ぶに行くよ~(*^^)v

  • I wanna eat しゃぶしゃぶ!

  • MKレストランってタイ式しゃぶしゃぶ&飲茶だったのね。

    知らなかったけど東京にもお店があるから今度行こうかな。

  • you guys need to kiss. we want kiss.

  • 美味しいですよね♪動画見ていきたくなったー(^-^)v

  • shabu shabu

  • All I can say is Shabu Shabu!

  • the electronic menu is SO COOL! I usually go for cheap :)

and the videos of the people I m subscribed to are not showing up on my homepage-this is soooo annoying >.<

  • Golden corral is way much better baby. eat forever xD

  • $10 all u can eat thats like £6.30 in that 90mins i'd put them out of business!! that food looked fit wish there was more japanese restaurants in the north of england

  • 俺も福岡に行きたい!!!

  • I'm hungry now....

  • へぇー九州限定ですか。東海に住んでる僕は、あんまいけないなー。

  • For me it depends. In Sweden food never really is that cheap anyway, so putting out a bit of extra money for something to taste good as well isn't that big a deal. Sometimes it can really be worth it, I love good food haha (:

BTW, I love that you made a video about Shabu Shabu! When I lived in Japan it was my favorite food. It's too bad I can't have it as much as I'd like to now that I'm living in Stockholm again ): unless I want to spend $50+ for a meal. And that's not even 'all you can eat'..

  • I dont eat fish would japan be a hard place for me to visit?

  • Ooooh, CHEAP FOOD IS AWESOME. I went to china for two weeks last summer and iiiit waaas amaaaziiiing, so the food was really really cheap and really really good. omnomnom But I've heard that it is pretty expensive to live and eat out in Japan. Is that true?

  • Ryuhei should seriously have his own channel, lol.

  • Hey, i've been wondering this heaps, but would it be hard for a vegetarian to live in Japan?, because im planning on moving there when i'm older but i don't know if it will be easy, because it seems like all they sell there is fish haha.

  • @Branduhn96 Yes it would be hard. Everything is made with fish stock at the very least. Japan is not a vegetarian friendly country. For more information check google or Bobbyjudo's channel which has a video about vegetarian dining in Japan.

  • @Ciaela Ok, ありがとう!

  • Comment removed

  • @Branduhn96 I met a lot of vegans in Japan and some of them even managed to not look emaciated, lol; can't imagine they ate out much tho. I'd recommend you learn katakana and a fair few kanji before you go there and perhaps practice meditation so u can keep your calm when the dish you ordered, after being assured it doesn't contain fish/meat comes adorned with fish flakes, swimming in fish stock or contains bacon/ham//etc. Happened to me untold times: eg, I was told "it's not meat, it's HAM".Sigh

  • @Branduhn96 I've never been to Japan, nor possess 1/200,000th Japanese knowledge of Ciaela. But I know there is a kind of vegetarian cuisine prepared by Shinto monks. It is called Shojin-style cooking. If you learn this and prepare the food yourself, living as a vegetarian shouldn't be a problem.

  • I love your videos so much ^_^

     とてもおいしいですね。

  • sometime… I'm confused between shabu-shabu and nabemono, what are the different? is shabu-shabu use thinly sliced meat and veggies, nabemono you can use anything?

  • I prefer higher quality for higher price. You can't enjoy life without good food!!! You can mostly only get good food if you are willing to pay note. But I guess that applies to everything.

  • I LOVE hot pot.. but it's been awhile since I've had some.. I need to go soon.

Thanks for the great vid AND flipping off us. LOL >_o

    Shabu Shabu.. to funny.

  • shabu means a drug in the philipppines. also shabu shabu has sexual connotations in japanese.

however, this is just the restaurant. I love it!

  • At least it washes some of the radiation off.

  • Doesn't shabu also mean meth?

  • Oh and one more thing, is there such thing as Vegetarian Shabu Shabu? You know, for people that don't like fish stock? Or do they also use chicken stock?

  • @sweetvaleria559 Sure, if you cook it yourself at home.

  • Shabu Shabu! It's so fun to say! ^^;;

  • Awesome! What camera did you use?

  • I love Japan!!!!

But I have no idea what I'm talking about because I've never been there!!!

    Arrrrrrrrgh!!!

  • かなり庶民的な雰囲気のレストランみたいね。

    自分で支払うならこういうお店でお腹いっぱい食べたい。

  • どこにあるんですか。教えてくださ~い。

  • Similar to hotpot I guess?;o isn't it sukiyaki lol what's the difference? Ahhh but damn the prices are so cheap... Here it would probably be 30-40$ (vancouver )

  • I love that music, reminds me of when Mr. Rogers.

  • is this fine gentleman in the video your boyfriend may i ask?

  • CHEAP IS ALWAYS GOOD =) Nice vid

  • looks delicious mmmmmm

  • ちなみに、NAGASAKIに住んでます^^

  • HAHAHA i love ryuhei. sorry michaela. i still wanna marry u tho!!! ;)

  • Thanks Ciaela. There's something much more appealling about Japanese shabu-shabu than those awful fondue restaurants that were a 70s/80s fad in the West...

  • shabu shabu!

  • Shabu, Shabu looks delicous and today I did my video called Tragedy this is where I talk about September 11, 2001 and what happend before so it is inspired by someone that posted something about Hiroshima so I did this one on the Embargoman channel please watch it its very important why I feel so sad about this even though their are lots of things in the world right now happening but the video on the Embargoman channel called Tragedy is a recomendation to everybody please tell them about Tragedy

  • I like to eat high quality foods.

  • @tstttt2008 それはそうかも知れませんね。よく悩んでいることです。とりあえず今、学校と仕事両方で忙しくて、卒業するまで(あるい学費払い終わるまで)次の道に進めないんですね。

  • Thank you so much for doing a food video like I requested! You are the best! I love how you can order what you want and you have a timer on your table. :D Too cool!

  • I go MK twice a month!

  • @kthr1121 いいですね!

  • Dear @Ciaela, please eat whatever the heck you want to eat. Love, Me.

  • I enjoy your videos. So much! :D I was planning on going to a Language School in Fukuoka for this Summer. So I wanted to see if there was any interesting things there. and I found your videos on YouTube. They're amazing. My dad postponed my trip til next summer. I can't wait to visit Japan. :3

  • Love shabu shabu. Miss having it in Japan.

  • What music is this? It is the same song as Foodwishes! hehe...

  • @MikisPantry Everyone who owns a Mac has access to this music. It's part of the default jingles included in iLife.

  • @Ciaela wow, that's nice that you could use it in your vids without asking Apple for permission! :D

  • I'm going to try rice together with a raw egg next (*o*)

  • I want to go to Japan ;o;

  • Make this meat eater want to try some.

  • Well, I'd prefer a bit expensive food because it feels more safe to eat it. Especially meat because of the nuclear power plant stuff that happend recently

  • @DaringElephantsPro True. But MK advertises that they use Canadian Pork. Haha :)

  • i eat raw eggs for breakfast

  • @sonnetxi But thats so grossss! (Mind you, I think eggs are gross even when they're cooked, so..)

  • @Ciaela ok i lied. i USED to eat them straight out of the fridge but eventually i just couldnt stand them anymore......they're quite gross....

  • I've just read in a tour guide something about japanese food, something like "don't be surprised to see japanese eating raw egg with rice and soy sauce" and I was like "WHAT?! why do they have to make stuff up to make a country look weird and interesting..."

  • @finapon Ha, that's awesome. I wasn't surprised as I've seen that in more than one Japanese movie. Lots of Japanese movies have food as a major part of the story. One show I saw had a single dad and he would prepare that for his kids when their chicken laid an egg - they would have to share it, but the chicken's eggs were perfect. The 'poor little rich girl' in the story wanted to buy the chicken after she tried it. :)

  • Comment removed

  • I prefer high quality food for a cheap price :D

  • My dad likes to make shabu shabu at home xD

  • i must try!

    im hungry

  • are you always like this white?? or.. because of the cam?

  • @fangchengchen It has a lot to do with the fact that the camera is sitting right in front of a big massive window... Will be more careful with my camera settings from now on.

  • @Ciaela yea

  • shabu-shabu is so freakin good, they actually have some places in cali

  • MK restaurant is originally from thailand!!

they call "thai-suki" and i love it, ate a lot when i was there.

I tried once in japan, but its a little bit different from original one,

somehow between real "thai-suki" and japanese "shabu-shabu".

as far as i know, there is MK restaurant in Shinjuku.

  • @aromadrug Yes. That MK restaurant is the only one located outside of Kyushu. :)

  • 90 minutes for all you can eat? I've never spent more than 45 minutes at a Home Town Buffet or Ponderosa around here, and the food quality is certainly garbage compared to anything you got to eat. lol

  • is that your boyfriend :P

  • Hey..where can i find mk resto here in fukuoka?

  • @Itskareen03 They're everywhere in Fukuoka. Check the website. The company is based in Fukuoka.

  • GRRR you make me jealous....making me watch you have delicious shabu shabu while all ive got is home made Macaroni and cheese...dont like kraft dinner...

  • I cant read to many kanji yet :(

  • ciaela, you're so pretty! and you only date japanese guys? ever consider koreans, taiwanese or hong kongers?

  • @kfki I don't have a preference. I only ask that they are taller, weigh more than I do, and make jokes.

  • I heard that the etymology of the word, "shabu shabu" is one of those gitaigo/gisaigo thangs, but I can't be sure. J sound effects are often super intuitive, but some seem utterly random. Does shabu shabu SOUND like swishing meat? That one is a stretch for me.

I read your follow-up note regarding (non) sponsorship, and I apologize for me confusion. But in your case if ever it were sponsored (unlikely I'll allow), I suspect I would not mind.

  • 1. effective use of shallow depth-of--field, to focus viewers from one thing 2 another 2. nice music 3. your face is cute 4. closer at the end imparted light-heartedness.

  • @blondecrazygaijin Thank you :)

  • shabu shabu for the win!!!

  • I am so jealous. I am asian but I can not speak Japanese.

  • What's the music called? I can't get it out of my head xD.

  • haha it's adorable how you laugh everytime Ryu says "shabu shabu".

  • Блин!Я так кушать захотел:(((

  • Umm, that green coloured drink looks soooo weird that I want to try it O_o

  • @berkeg17 It's Melon Soda. It's good. :)

  • 生卵賭けご飯~ my favourite food when I'm too lazy to cook. If I'm feeling particularly "adventurous" (not really) i add furikake :3

  • that's cool to see that there are at least some vegetarian options in Japan. I've never visited, but it's an island nation and I get the impression that everything is seafood based - you don't eat potato chips, you eat dried/salted fish things, etc. Some "vegetarians" eat seafood, but I just don't care for it or other meat, for the most part.

maybe you could do a video sometime about how easy it is or not to try to eat vegetarian in Japan..

  • @manthoney Bobbyjudo made some videos about Vegetarianism in Japan (and I helped record them!), so you should check his channel for that!

  • @Ciaela Great! I will definitely check out Bobbyjudo's vids. I found myself wondering several times over the last year watching Jetdaisuke eat curry-everythingmeat how a vegetarian would get along in Japan. Thanks for the tip!

  • all you can eat shabu shabu..... omg..

  • I friggen love Shabu Shabu.
