This seems similar to fondue. You allow the hot broth to cook various meats. Kinda cool. I prefer more expensive/higher quality foods even if I can only have them occasionally. Cheap food usually taste good but isn't good for you (at least here in the States). Don't get me wrong...I love some Taco Bell...but it's really unhealthy. I'm always reminded of this when I've finished digesting it... "Oh yeah, that's why I don't eat Taco Bell very often."
Thank you for all your videos! It's such a shame your videos attract a lot of negative comments from so really negative people. I think what you're doing is great, showing us what your life is like in Japan. Keep up the good work!
It's kind of creepy how often I have seen you eating or drinking. And you don't even know me ^_^ Cool vid tho! I've never been to shabu shabu, but now it's on my todo list.
And thanks for reminding me of raw egg on rice. Ooishii! Cheap, fast and nutritious.
I like both cheap food and expensive food. Sometimes one, sometimes the other depending on my mood.
Quality of food is very important to me! I will always pay a little more if it means, whole, natural ingredients that are not ridden with fillers and preservatives..you get what you pay for (for the most part!)!
can i ask where you started off learning japanese?sorry to be annoying, its just im really interested in learning and your videos have inspired me haha. :)
I'd like to tell friends living on the earth. It's about lies of Korean culture. kendo(kumdo) aikido(Hapkido) iaido(Guhapdo) judo(yudo) manga(Manhwa) If Korean told you that these are Korean culture,it is lie. These are Japanese culture. Many people knows Korea always steal other country's culture. But I think this is related also to your country. So please look out! And please help us!

Ooooh, CHEAP FOOD IS AWESOME. I went to china for two weeks last summer and iiiit waaas amaaaziiiing, so the food was really really cheap and really really good. omnomnom But I've heard that it is pretty expensive to live and eat out in Japan. Is that true?

sometime… I'm confused between shabu-shabu and nabemono, what are the different? is shabu-shabu use thinly sliced meat and veggies, nabemono you can use anything?
I prefer higher quality for higher price. You can't enjoy life without good food!!! You can mostly only get good food if you are willing to pay note. But I guess that applies to everything.

Well, I'd prefer a bit expensive food because it feels more safe to eat it. Especially meat because of the nuclear power plant stuff that happend recently
I've just read in a tour guide something about japanese food, something like "don't be surprised to see japanese eating raw egg with rice and soy sauce" and I was like "WHAT?! why do they have to make stuff up to make a country look weird and interesting..."

GRRR you make me jealous....making me watch you have delicious shabu shabu while all ive got is home made Macaroni and cheese...dont like kraft dinner...
I heard that the etymology of the word, "shabu shabu" is one of those gitaigo/gisaigo thangs, but I can't be sure. J sound effects are often super intuitive, but some seem utterly random. Does shabu shabu SOUND like swishing meat? That one is a stretch for me.
I read your follow-up note regarding (non) sponsorship, and I apologize for me confusion. But in your case if ever it were sponsored (unlikely I'll allow), I suspect I would not mind.
1. effective use of shallow depth-of--field, to focus viewers from one thing 2 another 2. nice music 3. your face is cute 4. closer at the end imparted light-heartedness.
that's cool to see that there are at least some vegetarian options in Japan. I've never visited, but it's an island nation and I get the impression that everything is seafood based - you don't eat potato chips, you eat dried/salted fish things, etc. Some "vegetarians" eat seafood, but I just don't care for it or other meat, for the most part.
maybe you could do a video sometime about how easy it is or not to try to eat vegetarian in Japan..
@Ciaela Great! I will definitely check out Bobbyjudo's vids. I found myself wondering several times over the last year watching Jetdaisuke eat curry-everythingmeat how a vegetarian would get along in Japan. Thanks for the tip!

生卵賭けご飯~ my favourite food when I'm too lazy to cook. If I'm feeling particularly "adventurous" (not really) i add furikake :3

that's cool to see that there are at least some vegetarian options in Japan.

@manthoney Bobbyjudo made some videos about Vegetarianism in Japan (and I helped record them!), so you should check his channel for that!

@Ciaela Great! I will definitely check out Bobbyjudo's vids. I found myself wondering several times over the last year watching Jetdaisuke eat curry-everythingmeat how a vegetarian would get along in Japan. Thanks for the tip!
