  • I was privileged and lucky to see and meet Cookie at the band at the 1995 Blues Estafette in Urtrecht, Netherlands. Nice guys and serious musicians. Miss you so much.

  • I remember. He was a lot younger, though. (So was I)

  • When I hear this stuff my soul vibrates like a tuning fork.

  • Is that the "original" Cookie singing lead?? Heard he was killed in a car wreck some time ago.

  • How awesome is that! OMG the memories of The Big Oaks in Vinton!!!

  • They don't make music like this any more.Love it!

  • What a great record

  • ole cookie louisiana bayou boy yes swamp pop we call it

  • Cookie died a few years ago, so this is historically important video . . . especially since he disapeared from around 1965 to around 1993. As a result, there is little if any video/film of him performing.

  • Yes - I was so lucky to catch this one - it was either the first or second gig after Cookie re-appeared. It was much more low key than I expected - they opened up for Charles Mann. There were no stage lights, and I only managed to get some reasonable film because Ernest Jacobs, their piano player, had a friend filming it as well, using a spotlight on his camera. I had to follow his light, so Ernest's film will be very similar to mine.

  • You might send a copy on DVD to Dr. Carl Brasseaux at UL-Lafayette; I know he'd love to have it for the university's local music archives:
